Do you know how many provisions China installed in the Convention what she ratified the UNCLOS? One of the provision, same as Philippines ratification in 1984, was the convention doesn't apply to sovereignty disputes.

You keep saying China is greedy but neglect to mention Vietnam's hegemonic activities in SCS. Who give Vietnam the rights to patrol territories so far away from home and who has the authorities to give those rights. It's more of Vietnam just appoints herself to patrol those areas in dispute...

How true, many Far Eastern countries don't mind, is fact love to, dominated by western powers. Japan, Korea, Philippines....to name just a few.

You can instill all kind of doubts in the forum if you want, however, I'm sure the Sri Lankan authorities know the ground situation better and more capable than you for solving the mysteries. If they say it all a misunderstanding I just don't see why others keep debating the issue.
