    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

DRFM or Digital Radio Frenquency Memory, is a method of digitally capture incoming radio frequency signals that could be reproduced later. It is used as a technology in jammers to block out Radio frequency signals. If its jamming your fighter plane, you cannot have a lock-on on the enemy...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

For me, there are two interesting things in the articles 1. that PAC will be marketing the plane at farnborough. I read that CATIC will be displaying the static model so I guess they have developed a joint marketing strategy? 2. JF-17s will be/are being produced at 2 a month...thats quite a...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

Firstly we don't know exactly what they are looking for from France (or any other western country). Avionics comprises of a lot of sub-systems. For example, we went for Chinese avionics but also have some indigenous ones that we thought were better than Chinese ones while others either we did...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

My bad then..i apologize..just that it came in the same post as reply to my comments. dangerous word to be using on the net ;) I am not defending the corrupt elite or the so-called 'ordinary innocent people' because ordinary they might be, but certainly not innocent. I won't go into...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

I just said JF-17's avionics were built at a later stage and are "expected to be" better than those on J10 built earlier, if not for anything else than for the rate at which electronic devices are improving. Where does france comes into the picture? did they develop the avionics of J10 or...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

Just wondering how you came to the conclusion that since J10's electronics/avionics is behind the F-16 then JF-17's must be even worse? Besides according to your own post and video link, both J-10 and F-16 got a "A" in avionics. Given that JF-17's avionics were developed at a later stage, one...

    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

Shamim sahib, are we buying new 18 F-16s blk 52 (that were on option when we ordered the first 18) or is it going to be EDA upgraded to blk 52 standard? Seeing that we had problems financing the first batch of JF-17s, our FC-20 order is on hold, I wonder where we got the money to purchase...

    JF-17X- A Pakistani Stealth Fighter

A lot of people here think you can tweak a couple of things here and there and end up with a 'stealth' fighter. Unfortunately, they are living in their little worlds where their imagination ( or rather wishes) work just fine and anything and everything can be done by their brilliant piece of...

FC-1 (JF-17) powered by WS-13 engine carries Taxi Trials

You raise some valid points which is a delight to read. I think the question is - how much did the JF-17 designers knew about the WS-13 engine when designing the plane and how well tailored is the WS-13 for the JF-17. Another thing to consider is how much data from the testing they have...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

Gentlemen, this is the JF-17 thread so lets keep it as such. Here's some news cross-posted from pakdef FC-1/JF-17 Thunder Dragon/Thunder: ... The latest news indicated that the first taxi test of FC-1 powered by an indigenous WS-13 took place on March 18, 2010. ... (Last line at the end...

    J-10 Will Come With T O (P) T

The DSI picture is right, it is using that "bumps" in the intake to take care of air inflow at high speeds instead of a movable mechanism to do the same. Israel has had nothing whatsoever to do with DSI in F-35. So the question of them "transferring" the technology is ridiculous. The only...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 3]

India is NOT making "100%" of Su-MKI. The engine, radar, avionics, etc comes from the respective countries that produce them. Only some airframe building and assembly takes place in india. Secondly, neither india nor china is able to produce an engine itself so it will be a long time before...

$278m AWACS deal struck with China

Firstly, Embraer is not from SAAB but its a Brazillian aircraft. Secondly, going with Embraer was costing a lot of time, meaning that the platform wouldn't have been available soon and PAF wanted it sooner. That was the primary factor we didn't go for Embraer.

Chengdu J-10 Multirole Fighter Air Craft News & Discussions

The J10s might come some time around 2014 as there are still things to sort out. The 14 F-16s might arrive sooner and it they are EDAs, cheaper too. PAF would like 150 or so hi-end planes and the sooner you get them, the better.
