So basically u could use cheaper platforms paired with advanced weapon art to take out advanced platforms....this has many advantages...namely lower maintenance costs,more fighter jets can be inducted,etc

That is why PAF is pursuing j31.... Oh..,I won't worry about aircrafts upto4.5 Gen as even jf17 block 3 can counter them....to defeat 4++ we don't need a same aircraft,,,using advanced weaponry such as a darter missile...it would relieve us of some pressure... Refer to this thread...it is also...

Of course, I agree with you but Airforce might have not inducted F16s without foreign aid...Equipment of China is at par with that of Russia, only Engine problems continue...so Chinese have used Russian Engines...
