    Infantry Weapons and Equipment

Ah, thank you very much. One more question if I may, was it a POF manufactured G3? I am just wondering about the quality of manufacture, the Turkish made G3's and the German made ones shoot very similarly but there is apparently a difference on other points (due to manufacturing quality). In...

Is this "War on Terror" worth fighting?

In war there are no good people or bad people, just targets;):D

    Infantry Weapons and Equipment

On what basis would you say the G3 is just as accurate as the FAL? (An honest question, I am not looking for an argument)

Is the 'Korsan' device part of a wider future soldier project or a stand alone piece of equipment?

Is this "War on Terror" worth fighting?

Omar, I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. Sadly many of us have lost and even more sadly will lose good friends in this war on those that would destroy good people the world over. In my own view it is fight worth fighting for the continuing freedom and safety of people...

    Infantry Weapons and Equipment

Maybe not kill them first shot but they certainly know about being hit, enough damage is done in one shot more often than not to take them out of the fight. Yes a one shot kill solution would be better but the 5.56 is good enough.

    Infantry Weapons and Equipment

First off I have never played any of these modern computer games, but I have put a lot of ammunition through various weapons. Some off your points I agree with but there are a few I don't, first off how is the AR series becoming obsolete? Also how has the M4 failed in Afghanistan and Iraq? Yes...

Isn't the extra length and weight required for a heavy cartridge like the 7.62? For things like strengthening and all the rest.

Up to 30,000 new U.S. troops in Afghanistan by summer

I was just saying that a 10:1 ratio is necessary to defeat an insurgency fully. It was the result of a few studies back from the times of Vietnam so it may not be applicable today.

US Tells NATO Allies to 'Do More'

Do the US commanders and politicians realise the strain being placed on Britain's armed forces by the current deployments? We are over deployed and pulling out of Iraq and putting some of those troops in Afghanistan is the sensible thing to do. Besides not all the troops in Iraq are suited for...

Up to 30,000 new U.S. troops in Afghanistan by summer

A ratio of 10 soldiers to each insurgent is optimum.

How to Pay for a 21st-Century Military

All the fancy toys are needed, the future will not just be made up of conflicts like the current ones, (Afghanistan, Iraq etc). New technology must be introduced, more developed and improved upon, less other countries try and overtake the US's global supremacy. I am not a yank but it is the...

Up to 30,000 new U.S. troops in Afghanistan by summer

They would not be allowed to use Iraqi territory to launch an attack on Iran anyway, nor can they fly through Iraqi airspace on their way to attack anybody either.

Up to 30,000 new U.S. troops in Afghanistan by summer

They want to wear down the NATO forces and make us lose support at home, the loss of soldiers is felt back in our countries as we have become casualty intolerant. They think that if we lose support back home our troops will come out, to this end they are going to more unconventional tactics...

Up to 30,000 new U.S. troops in Afghanistan by summer

It depends on the way you look at it, you say exposing more Americans to the Taliban. I say exposing more Taliban to the Americans. In my experience and those who I have talked to it is not the Taliban who win the battles, even when they initiate fights on their terms.

Up to 30,000 new U.S. troops in Afghanistan by summer

A good move, yes it is hardly enough for a country like Afghanistan but it is better than before. With proper integration between NGO's and NATO forces more progress would be made, that is what is needed and even on the very small scale cooperation I have been involved in I have seen its...

Why did PAF not buy F16/BLOCK 60

In the future when the current economic crises is over yes they may well want twin engined aircraft with greater capabilities but surely then better options than the J-11 would be available. The flanker airframe is great if showing its age in certain key areas but in the future it will be...

How much would such a move cost? Surely quite a bit, not including the rifles themselves you would need to change the type of ammunition used across the board, meaning changes to logistical chains, infrastructure etc.

Turkey's National Main Battle Tank Project (ALTAY)

Do you mean British Challenger 2? The Centurion is a very old tank. And if you do mean the Challenger how do you figure that the Altay will be superior?
