I can't see it coming to fruition.
The Kuwaitis already operate the M84 from the former Yugoslavia and they are more likely to continue that relationship by buying the Croatian M95 degmann
That helo in your post is the Mi26 Halo which I mentioned earlier as a potential for heavy lift.
There appears to be currently only three out on the market those being the:
1) CH47 Chinook
2) Sikorsky CH53E Super Stallion
3) Mi26 Halo
Super Falcon,
Having studied the ANZACs performance in World War 1 and 2 it is absolute foolishness to accuse the Australian army of being afraid.
These are the type of men who went ashore at Gallipoli and having known a few Aussies in my time they are definitly not cowards.
The Australian SAS are very well versed in COIN ops and dealing with low intensity warfare seen from Australias peace keeping commitments in the Pacific theatre and from SF operations they have conducted in Baghdad.
They maintain a small but extremely professional army and to dismiss them is...
I have always been a fan of South African equipment as it is tough and hard wearing due to the conditions out there.
The original Rooivalk was designed to be operational in harsh conditions and I can see the same for the NAH.
Thats quite an eye opener AM.
Reminds me alot of 3 Para by Patrick Bishop about the UKs 16 Air Assault Brigade first going into Helmand province.
There are similar themes along the lines of a small force going into a hornets nest and fighting for their lives.
Democracy is working just fine in Britain but as the man has said not so in Pakistan.
I think it is because of outdated practices based on the divide and rule principles used during the British Raj where power was given to land owners and tribal chiefs leading to this current situation...
Seems that South African company I mentioned earlier ATE Aerspace will reincarnate the Rooivalk into the NAH:
If not the NAH then the upgrade for the Mi17 is certainly worth considering.
The logic behind this madness is that it basically the planned Denel Rooivalk II which was cancelled...
Having just completed an entire module on Wind Power of my MEng Renewable Energy I'll add my two pence.
Wind Energy CAN work and it is a good form of energy. The problems with it are cost and the fact it is a comparatively new technology however, rapid advancements are being made.

The UK health and safety would have a field day if they saw this.
I recently read a story where due to such laws a 16 year old was sacked from his job as a cleaner because he had to use a hoover and was deemed unqualified to use it.
S2 what to do then with the potential threat from the West plus reorgansing an army with a limited budget for COIN ops would be rash and IMO foolhardy.
From what I've read the heavy handed tactics seen in Swat and Bajaur destroys militant infrastructure that has mostly been abandoned and left...
Has Pakistan ever considered the Mi26 Halo for heavy lift?
There is a good article on them in this months AFM and most former Soviet states have them in storage.
I recommend you read a book called Sniper 1 by Sgt Dan Mills from PWRR it gives a good insight as to the crap the Brits have had to deal with in Southern Iraq particularly with the rules of engagement.
