Northern and Eastern China traditionally eat short-grain rice, similar to Korea and Japan. This type of rice is called japonica, but despite the name it originates from China, not Japan (that said, in most of Northern China, wheat noodles and mantou are more common than rice).

A lot of the dish designs on page 1 look quite childish and unappetising actually. It's not refined or elegant.

It's just because their airports are older and were built in the 20s and 30s.
In 50 years time, other countries will have newer looking airports than China.

Snow in mountains is nothing special. Vietnam is not a temperature country with 4 distinct seasons.
If you compare Pyongyang and Hanoi, you will see the difference in organisation and planning, despite both having Communist / Marxist backgrounds.
Pyongyang, while being much poorer than Vietnam, looks much more orderly and planned. Hanoi looks more...chaotic.

Oh this is excellent. Does anyone know what kind of trees China will be planting? I think more forests in the north would be good and may help stop the desertification / soil erosion that is a problem there.
Ah I wasn't aware of that. I hope other Chinese in SEA feel the same way toward China too!
Certainly it would be great if China helps them. That said I've always wondered how Singaporean and Malay Chinese feel toward China, whether they are Western aligned or what.
