modern weapon systems are extremley complicated and required rigorous training , a fifth generation combat a/c in hands of a poorly trained pilot will offer no value in combat rather a burden

the attack on three southern capitals was a diversionary tactic . it was meant to over stretch ANA units
simultaneously, IEA launched pincers in north and captured zaranj and kunduz
i dont believe there is any need by taliban to 'scorch earth' any captured air fields
1 . afghan regime is defeated and would rather hold kabul vs retaking far flung provincial districts
2. its not like US/nato is coming back to afghanistan !
the taliban have proven to be brilliant tacticians as well as grand maesters of chess strategy

2. didnt resort to mass killings and revenge tactics ( like the 90s )
3. despite 24.7 western propaganda and indian bitching, there HAS BEEN NO documented proof...
the soviet made junk aka the S 300 /400 /Tor M2 couldnt even check a lousy Turkish TB2 UAV . the armenian rout can be blamed on the dismal performance of their air defence units
