Featured Pakistan Navy Type 054AP Frigates - Update, News & Discussion

I'm not sure why there needs to be an argument over whether or not the 054APs are subsidized. Would you have a non-subsidized ship that's more capable and cheaper or a subsidized ship that's less capable and more expensive? It's a really good thing that China's shipbuilding industry can build...

oh that, I did listen to some of it. It gives you a good insight on how China thinks.

PAF J-10C News, Updates and Discussion

J-10Cs are not coming with AL-31. China waited until WS-10B is mature on J-10Cs before exporting them. There is no need for local assembly of AESA radar when JF-17 project already has AESA radar that I'm sure PAC can request to locally assemble. Russia's 5th generation project is a disaster...

PAF J-10C News, Updates and Discussion

Chinese side have said since last year that not only is there an order, but that PAF requested for it to be delivered very urgently. Again, my point about delivery timeframe is a great factor for J-10C. That's the difference between getting a mature aircraft vs getting one that has still a lot...

PAF J-10C News, Updates and Discussion

I have to dispute this part. J-10C will be use probably a 14t engine rather than the original 12.5 AL-31F. As far as I can tell, Rafale is still using 2 M88s which produces about 15t in wet thrust. I don't think Rafale will have a noticeable advantage over J-10C in T/W ratio. Now, it may...

PAF J-10C News, Updates and Discussion

I've seen some hesitations on this and other thread about purchasing Chinese weapons, whether it's J-10C or Z-10. So, I will try to put you guys at ease about this. There has been huge technological advances in the Chinese military industrial complex in the past 20 years. But for the sake of...

PAF J-10C News, Updates and Discussion

This is my first time posting on these type of forums for a while, but the topic peaked my interest enough to listen to a bunch of Chinese podcast. So I will say the following. As much as J-10 export have been discussed for a long time (starting with J-10A long long ago), it really was not...

    JF-17

Kanwa is actually quite accurate on certain issues. 04 was displayed in the Beijing airshow, so everyone that went there could see the changes. The stuff on the bottom paragraph are quite accurate.

    Planning to buy Nuclear Submarines?

Yes, I have been to bharak many times and also read that again. It makes no mention of a sensor that has 300 nautic mile range. I'm not say that it doesn't have it, because plenty of navies in the world has it, but rather I don't know if IN has it. As for type 15A, that's what...

    Air Chief Marshall

I won't be trusting sawf if I were you. The American radars are all measured against 1 m^2 targets, the Russian radars are all measured against 5 m^2 targets. Mig-29's RCS is 5 m^2, F-16's RCS is 1-1.5m^2. You need to use the RCS formular to recalculate this. APG-68v9 is actually...

    Planning to buy Nuclear Submarines?

miroslav, original Talwar and Delhi are not considered to be stealthy at all. Their original hulls were not designed with stealth in mind, but putting the most potent weapon systems on their. As for detecting enemy ships, do you have any proof that IN ships have radars that powerful? Club...

    JF-17

    I got this off somewhere: RD-33 length - 166.5 inch width - 39.4 inch thrust - 18300 lb weight - 2326 lb M53-P2 length - 199.6 inch width - 41.5 inch thrust - 21355 lb weight - 3307 lb M-88-3 length - 142 inch width - 31 inch thrust - 21350 lb weight - 2171 lb The RD-33 dimension seems to fit...

    JF-17

sorry, but do I know you from one of the other forums? As for engine, again, it's a sensitive issue. Whenever there is a change in engine, you have to do recalculation and everything and more testing. Even WS-13A is slightly smaller than RD-93, so there will be more testing when CAC...

A question for any knowledgeable Pakistanis

you can't just add engines to an airframe. There has been mentions of twin-engined J-10 for carriers, but it simply went from using one large engine to 2 medium sized engines. Even that requires redesigning and recalculating and such. Also, SD-10 is a fire-forget type of missile, so it...

    JF-17

Alright, just a few points: 1. WS-10A has finished all tests and is awaiting certification, but this is for J-10 and J-11B. WS-10A's core is based on CFM-56 2. WS-13A is currently in development. It hasn't even started any testing yet. The official line by the people developing WS-13A...

A question for any knowledgeable Pakistanis

JF-17 - naval role (not a chance) J-10C - haven't even seen a real photo of it yet. JH-7A - if you guys want to get one that has BVR, ability to fire Chinese/Russian AShM, cruise missiles and decent precision strike ability, this would be it. The export version FBC-1M could have 11 hard...

A question for any knowledgeable Pakistanis

Thanks. Interesting, my point is that theoretically speaking, J-8 should be a better plane than J-7. If PAF was to pick one of the two based on quality, J-8 would've made more sense. Not mentionning both planes are junk, but just in the context of comparing them two.

A question for any knowledgeable Pakistanis

Hi, I was just wondering about PAF's purchase of F-7s. Was there a reason that you guys took F-7s ahead of F-8s? It seems to me that F-8 is a superior aircraft that would give you guys BVR.
