Railways puts bullet train project on fast track

MiG and Sukhois are obsolete tech! The analogy doesnt apply to our railways. The existing lines of 110kmph trains are enough for India. India is still a 3rd world country!! You are all pampered people here! You probably dont even need the railways! But am speaking for the majority of the...

Railways puts bullet train project on fast track

No! First manage the existing lines and improve them! People are dying for God's sake! I am paranoid of traveling in trains! Just 5 years back traveling in trains was so much better, but the negligence and lack of infrastructure has almost destroyed our railway network! We do not HSR! We...

Does India need 8,000 Km Range missile?

I dont think India needs an ICBM..... DRDO should concentrate on the existing 5000km range missiles and improve their speed, accuracy, payload capability, mobility, submarine based missiles etc. Instead of pseudo-goals, DRDO should develop something which will really help them in a war.

Children used to carry out Sopore attacks

Actually... no one is trying to counter it.... we are actually ignoring it. And your statement of "Mass graves, kidnappings, beatings, rape, torture, fake staged encounters" collapses on itself. No counter needed ;)

Children used to carry out Sopore attacks

People always put India in a bad light about Kashmir. They are fed all the nonsense about atrocities against Muslims in India. And genocide of Muslims in Kashmir in Indians? Thats a sick thought man. Really sick  They are so far away from reality. And those remote incidences in Kashmir...

    Attack on Mata Amritanandamayi

I have studied in her schools, I have seen her and met her several times. Even gave my volunteer services for setting up her functions. She had hugged me and told me 'muddu magu muddu magu chennagi odu'. And thank g-d she's fine. She's one of the few saints in India who is not really a Hindu...

    Another crazy venom about India

The article was believable until I hit the statement - The article would have attracted much more sympathy from India only if it had been portraying reality, not spiced up with propaganda. The original and 'true' article is still there, but heavily edited by someone else who has added...

    Why Do Indians?

I dont think we should make fun of people who do not know proper English. Its always because they did not have the opportunity to do so. Moreover, the politician is trying his best to speak English, even though he is totally aware its pretty bad. That will-power and self-confidence and the...

Advantages and disadvantages of knowing english for india?

This is correct on a theoretical basis. But practically this wont work. Sanskrit is embedded into the complex history of India, and has many complications. For one, the Tamil wont accept it/will never accept it. Second, Sanskrit is typically saw as holy language, used only by Brahmins, and lower...

    Why Do Indians?

Because of the faulty way the kids are taught to pronounce English, ie using Hindi/vernacular letters to represent the sounds of English letters. For example, 'Z' has no equivalent in the Indian alphabet system, so we teach the kids 'Z' = 'जी'. And I know that the thread was...

    A Dust Over India

After analyzing the article, I could obviously make out that he was clearly in cultural shock. The way the article is written, sounds like he was in a totally unexpected and deep shock, and had very high stress. He was like a deep-water fish, held by its tail, high in the Himalayas. And...

Ok lets not digress, or derail the topic. The OP specifically asked whats the advantages and disadvantages of knowing English. And this question is not limited to Indians only. I think this is relevant to Pakistanis and Bangladeshis too.
