Sarabjit `clinically dead`; family to return on Wednesday

Nice word to use for a woman whose only crime is to be related to someone accused of terrorism. And what is a 'Terrorist sister'? Is it the same as 'Terrorist co-religionist'?

    The Problem of Urdu

Cheers. My objective was manifold. It was to show that - as Muse suggested- people always need and will find entertainment. If their social and cultural systems cannot give it to them, they will find it from other sources. Nature also abhors a cultural vacuum so there is little point speaking...

Sarabjit `clinically dead`; family to return on Wednesday

RIP Sarabjit. If he was guilty he should have been hanged; the manner of his death is a disgrace.

    The Problem of Urdu

There was a time in the early 1970s- I remember it faintly as I was a child- when illegal access to Pakistani TV was a definite perk for Indians living near the Pakistan border. Of course not many people had TV back then, but those who did, and had powerful enough receivers, were much envied...

    Teenager shot dead in Karachi.

Morals and dating norms aside, there has to be more to this story. The guard, presumably a full grown male, just pulls out his weapon and puts four rounds into a 16 year old? It just does not happen like that, there has to be some context. If the guard actually did it, why did he feel...

Move Sarabjit Singh to India for treatment, family demands

I never said my country's judicial system is much better than yours. A little better- I believe that- but not enough by far.

Move Sarabjit Singh to India for treatment, family demands

If they've supported murderous assaults on prisoners in Indian jails, they're wrong too. I do not need to act; by my opinions I try to make myself more humane. Are you kidding me? It has everything to do with reflecting shame on your judicial/ prison systems. This I agree with.

Move Sarabjit Singh to India for treatment, family demands

I find it interesting that some Pakistani forummers are supporting the murderous assault of a prisoner in their own judicial/ prison system, when all it does is condemn their system even more. Sarabjit Singh's guilt or innocence is not at debate here- both sides have their fair POVs. Whether...

Battle of Gazipur, 22 Baloch Regiment PA Heroic Defense

First of all, there no such thing as a particular region having complete monopoly on valour. From an army perspective it's a myth created by the British who had their reasons. Second, you should know your/ our shared history. Before 1857 the bulk of the military was recruited from Bengal...

Heart breaking. RIP to the dead.

    Pakistani pilot Saiful Azam

It is a common mistake- and a common charge- to confuse the fact that Yagoda and some others in the Soviet hierarchy were Jews with making Jews as a people responsible for the mass murder of Soviet people. In reality there is no connection, and this is another conspiracy theory. For one, the...

    Pakistani pilot Saiful Azam

This is all OT, but since you've mentioned it.... What part of Hitler's nationalism and fury can you understand? And if it did not justify the whole "cleansing", what part of the cleansing would it have justified?

Sarbajeet Singh the Indian spy, critically injured.

From Pakistani sources - on this very forum! How many terrorist perps in the last decade have been arrested, far less convicted so far? Aap hi bataaien. I'm saying that is how the system works in Pakistan (I do not claim that the Indian judicial system is a lot better; somewhat better...

Sarbajeet Singh the Indian spy, critically injured.

Everybody suddenly became very macho in this thread? You guys must all be fierce warriors. On topic, Sarabjeet can be hanged or released, that is the business and decision of the Pakistani military, judicial and political system. As an Indian, I'd prefer that he not be hanged, but it's...

    Pakistani pilot Saiful Azam

What atrocities were these committed by the Jews on the Russians?

I'm not commenting on the substance, but on the adaptation. Well played.

    Biased contradictory western media

It is the reality indeed, but I'm not sure what effective answer anyone can have to something like this. The conspiracy theory effect, if one can call it that, has severe and long term consequences for everyone, particularly if they're believed.

    Biased contradictory western media

It's not the content of the post that bothers me - conspiracy theories are a dime a dozen. It's my opinion that many regional language media in the Muslim world will carry this or a similar conspiracy theories as 'fact', thereby adding to the narrative of injustice and grievance.

Pakistani High court orders Musharraf's arrest.

None taken. I have done a lot of reading of Pakistani political history, more than most, but am always happy to learn more. So what is your point in contradicting me?

Pakistani High court orders Musharraf's arrest.

I agree. I don't particularly like General Musharraf - IMO he is a mediocre leader- and think less of his military skills. But one liners and "ha ha hee hee" comments are spoiling this thread. On topic, I don't know what the General was thinking when he returned to Pakistan. What were his...
