Bro- its simple- One Billion Indians supporting India in today match- Plus 1 i.e ME :D-
I think its like that everywhere, you don`t appreciate something you have until you lost it. It is sad.
To put it simply, most Israelis go to india before serving in the army, and go back to visit india some more when they are done serving the army. India is one of the most loved countries in Israel.
janashah_1@yahoo.com send me on this btw dargah is a place where any Muslim saint is buried not the structure
Let me give you a simple example to be more precise and easy-- if US imposes sanctions on Pakistan-- Pakistan can still use the F-16's untill the spare parts are available-- stocks finished-- the jets are grounded-- no spare parts-- jets cant fly--
    In your scenario-
If Russia puts sanctions on India-- then India can continue using their su-30's without worrying about the spare parts-- as you have full ToT- you can make it on your own--
cont...Then.. at the same time.. as these sanctions hit..there was no way to get any upgrades that the manufacturer may have installed on similar aircraft with other nations.
The options then narrow down to two..
    1. find another nation that has the experience to perform the upgrade and is willing to do so without authorization from the US(or otherwise)
    2. Try upgrading the equipment yourselves(not recommended unless you have knowhow of the aircraft systems).

The PAF tried option 2 with some success.. not always.

Now the F-16 was purely dependent on the US.
For an aircraft like the MKI..where it has been locally built..and contains a variety of avionics not from a single nation.. it is possible to try to manufacture spares indigenously..and "localize" the aircraft in terms of support and upgrades.
    Two things come first..
Is the jet exclusive to you?
and.. are others that operate the jets allies of yours ..and when I say allies ..very good allies.
Secondly.. how much capacity do you have for indigenous support of the system.

    Take the PAF for eg.
In the initial years of the F-16 embargo..our jets were hit hard.. spares were low..and therefore the birds were kept grounded usually...and some were cannibalized to keep others flying.. meaning that from 40 aircraft.. when spares were out.. 8 aircraft would be opened up for parts to keep the other 32 flying.
To remedy that..the PAF started looking for alternate supplies for spares..since the F-16 is a fairly common combat aircraft.. there was likely some nation willing to spare us some spares without letting it being noticed by the United states control authority.
Such nation's once found..were able to supply a certain quantity that would allow the use of the F-16 in wartime at maximum levels for a certain period.
