Yeah sure sorry for the late response it had to do with Syria supporting the PKK. Syria at the time was sheltering Abdullah Öcalan(leader of the PKK) in Damascus. The Turkish armed forces started to build up at the Syrian Turkish border and threatened to invade and go to all out war with Syria. Syria then expelled Öcalan from Damascus and said they will cooperate with Turkey against the PKK and signed the Adana Agreement. After this relations slowly started to improve and it is now at the point where defense ties have been established.
