Zeeshan Abbasi: Investigation or No Investigation? | PKKH.tv
PKKH Editorial
Pakistan blind cricket team that is currently stationed in India, Bangalore, taking part in the Twenty-20 World Cup Cricket Tournament, and has defeated India on Friday by eight wickets, has suffered a blow of hate-crime in the midst of secular India, apparently the hospitality to be expected from a hosting nation has put on the most heinous face one could imagine.
Pakistan blind cricket team captain,Zeeshan Abbasi , was allegedly served hazardous liquid when an acid glass was presented right in front of partially blind Zeeshan Abbasi in breakfast on Saturday in Banglore, and at the time is in a critical condition.
Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council Sultan Shah alleged that the glass filled of acid was deliberately served; if not, then why was it placed on the breakfast table? “Abbasi is not feeling well, his health is worsening,” he told the media.
It is also being said that the local hospital where Zeeshan has been shifted does not have a doctor present on duty,Sultan Shah is reported to have said that they are still waiting for medical assistance, adding that the doctor has not reached the hospital as yet.
Of course the Indian side is putting up a totally different story, saying that the incident happened accidentally, quoting the same Sultan Shah as saying that Zeeshan is ‘not’ in critical conditions and that he does not want to politicize the issue but simply wants to have the games go on smoothly.
There has been no apology or promise of inquiry from the Indian cricket board or any other authority as yet. How does India treat its guests, how safe is India for international cricket and other games, was this another attempt of the notorious Hindu extremist groups, should Pakistan demand an apology and should we re-consider our foreign policy; these are some of the many questions that have arisen in the minds of sensitive Pakistanis.
Our heart-felt prayers for Zeeshan and the whole team, a team that has never failed to make the nation proud, despite all the odds they face in every step of their struggle. The Pakistani nation salutes our brave team for its courage, its honorable presentation and its passion for achievement. May they return home with safety and success. Amen.
