ISLAMABAD: Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari has agreed on setting up a timetable to confront the rebel group Jundallah, which orchestrated a
suicide attack that killed 42 people, including top officers of its elite Revolutionary Guard, in Iran.
Zardari added that terrorists had also committed many crimes against Pakistan and that was why it had begun massive operations against them.
Ahmadinejad had alleged that the suicide assault was aided by and plotted in Pakistan. We became aware that some security agents in Pakistan were cooperating with the main elements of the terrorist incident and we consider it to be our right to demand the rendition of these criminals, he said. We want the Pakistani government not to delay the arrest of the main elements of this terrorist act any longer.
Iranian officials have accused Pakistan, Britain and the US of aiding the Sunni group. Gen Mohammad Ali Jafari, chief of the Guards, said Tehran would ask Pakistan to hand over Jundallah leader Abdolmalek Rigi, accused of being the mastermind of the bombing.
He said an Iranian delegation would go to Islamabad to present proof of Pakistani support to the group led by Rigi.
