He served as a Minister under Benazir's government and successfully earned Mr 10% title...and you are saying she wanted him to be away from politics?

If I am not wrong he was in charge of something in both of the Benazir's governments so he was never away from politics in first place

There was anger in Public... Everyone is pointing the swine part but no one is pointing out that he said if we can have good relation with other Arab countries then why not those who lived with us in the same country. The public rejected because of the anger. Losing a half of country is big deal. Thats why he said whatever the you (public) decide, You don't want to have relation with them(Bangladesh) let it be that way.

One of the best speeches I have ever heard. ZAB was truly a great leader unfortunately his daughter and son in law turned out to be the opposite. I love when he calls the crowd suvaar ke bacho.

If anyone here thinks that he was abusing the Bangladeshis, they are mistaken. He was asking the crowd a question and making the case for why Pakistan should recognise and have good relations with Bangladesh. The crowd reacted negatively and he said he was no one to make decisions for the people. The people had to decide themselves. There were only two options; one was to be friends like Pakistan intended to be with all muslim countries from Morocco to Indonesia, and the other is for us to say "we don't want to do anything with these sw1nes". It was a rhetorical choice framed in the language of a public orator. It was not an abuse hurled at anyone.

Also note that the clip ends right here to make it appear as if he was being abusive. This is misleading enough to not really warrant further discussion.

Worst public speaker ever, too emotional to talk to such huge crowds, he is one of the biggest causes of Pakistan's decline, sadly the Bhutto legacy continues to bleed Pakistan till now and will most likely carry on into the future.

The legacy of Bhutto alone cannot be blamed for this.

The very complicated answer lies between the tussle between American dominance over Pakistani politics and people who tried to free themselves away from them.

Bhutto rose to power at a time when Pakistan was totally under American dominance, signing SEATO, CENTO and afraid of aligning up with China to not to piss off the Americans.

America which never reciprocated its defence pacts with Pakistan at the time of war but had Pakistan be militarily involved in the Soviet conflict. Anyway long story short, he never made it big partly due to his own failures of grandiosity and partly due to his tussle with America.

All the leaders of American allied nations of that day that spoke against America met untimely deaths or were silenced. Bhutto hanged, Faisal shot by the America-returned half-royal nephew, Gaddhafi has been living in underground bunkers hiding from American assassins for decades now.

Pakistan's situation is quite messed up, to expect that any leader would come out of the process totally clean is unreasonable.

A true good leader would need to fight the Mullahs, fight the big corporations, resist the military and be free of America's influence and yet be a strong and popular leader in Pakistan.
