Cyber crime tribunal sentenced a young man to 7 years in prison plus a fine of Tk. 10,000 for writing a song mocking Hasina and and her late father mujib, and then spreading it online. The police SI of dacope upazila filed the case under ICT act while 10 people stood witness against the accused in court.

সাত বছর কারাদণ্ডের পাশাপাশি ১০ হাজার টাকা জরিমানা অনাদায়ে ৬ মাসের কারাদণ্ড দেয়া হয়েছে।
দণ্ডপ্রাপ্ত তন্ময় মল্লিকের বাড়ি খুলনা জেলার দাকোপ উপজেলার গুরকাঠি গ্রামে। তার বাবার নাম তুলশি মল্লিক।
মামলার এজাহার থেকে জানা যায়, তন্ময় মল্লিক প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানকে নিয়ে ব্যাঙ্গাত্মক গান রচনা করে তা মেমোরি কার্ডের মাধ্যমে প্রচার করেন।
এই ঘটনায় দাকোপ থানার এসআই জয়নাল আবেদিন বাদী হয়ে তথ্য-প্রযুক্তি আইনে একটি মামলা করেন। ১৯ মে ২০১৪ তারিখে তার বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ গঠন করে সাইবার ক্রাইম ট্রাইব্যুনাল। এ মামলায় বিভিন্ন সময়ে ট্রাইব্যুনালে ১০ জন সাক্ষ্য দেন।
রায়ের আগে আদালত থেকে ট্রাইব্যুনালে হাজির করা হয় তন্ময় মল্লিককে।

No Sir' its not , Sheikh Hasina Wajed is the Honorable prime minister of Bangladesh , a democratic country , but democracy does not means that one allows an Anti liberation party like the BNP/Jamaat to contest for power , i mean be rational & tell me sir', will you allow a party to contest for power in Pakistan , who opposed the very independence of Pakistan & constantly criticizes Mr.Jinnah ? , just like that , Bangladesh also won its freedom after a long & just struggle which the world respects & Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rahman is the father of the nation , & a symbol of Bengali Nationalism & the spirit of independence of Bangladesh , how can a Bangladeshi insult him ? & why should it be tolerated , i ask you be honest @syedali73 & @fakhre mirpur can anybody insult your father of the nation Mr.Jinnah or the Pakistan movement inside Pakistan ? Actually, "Bangabandhu" is used mostly by AL supporters. Most people have a neutral view of Shiekh Mujib. I actually used to look up to him when I was younger because I had not seen such an 'educated' Bengali man like him. Now I don't hate and I don't like him and he is not highly regarded personality like Jinnah is in Pakistan. Nearly every Pakistani on this forum loves Jinnah from my experience I can remember saying something about Jinnah resulting in a warning by one of the mods.

My point is he is a glorified figure and not even closely liked as Jinnah is..I would say comparing Jinnah to Mujib is totally wrong even though both fought for a independent country as their interests were different.

as I said before, Sheikh Mujib has his roots in the same political movement as MA Jinnah does. but Sheikh Mujib comes from very low in the food chain. Sheikh Mujib was a gunda of Shaheed Suhrwardy. and Shaheed Suhrwardy was like a deputy of MA Jinnah. East Pakistanis went from having MA Jinnah as the "father of nation" to having the gunda of his deputy as that. is that what our class is as a people?

and you're right about people's perception of Sheikh Mujib. if he is father of the nation, this "father of nation" is probably the most hated "father of nation" in the history of world's nations.
