Yes it does.. In some states, mainly in North India, the bias towards male child is so much that the ratio has gone down to some extent. Government has responded by banning sex-determination of foetus and various schemes for the girl child. The schemes are good, it's basically like, if you are aware and take benefit of all the schemes, then one will not have to spend a penny for the girl child.

I support abortions, especially if there's a risk to the mother's life. Also, if the parents are not ready to receive the child, then its better to avoid bringing him/her to the world than to giving birth to him and then making him live a poor life, the word 'poor' not limited to the financial sense.

Sanity should prevail, should it not? I always wanted a girl, but Allah gave me two sons. I know in my family girls are difficult to have. My uncle had 7 boys just in the pursuit of a girl. So I stopped there for I knew genetically we are predisposed to have many boys and not girls.

I am not saying we should not feel for people in difficult circumstances who aspire to have an abortion, but taking a life is far worse than having a baby grow up in a horrible or neglected environment.
As for the idea that certain genetics allow for the conceiving of either genders is a little misleading. Males and females both have an equal chance of being born, but even so females at prematurely stronger and so have a higher chance of surviving when young. Kind of off topic but this is also the reason for Muslims belief of females outnumbering males as being one of the sign of judgement day and having a boy or girl is part of God's plan.

Your opinions are very much same as rest of the people in here but no one gave me any solution of all those reasons or problems for which couple have this male preferences in their mind

Should we build old homes for those old couple who have no sons around them to look after them at the time of sickness and helplessness of old age?

For a violated girl if she wants her child she shoud keep it. But on our eastern side our society is so sick.they might take up sticks and kill both mom and kid.

But will a pakistani guy who somehow agrees to marry a raped female will ever agree to raise such kid?
