Younis Khan new record

Younis Khan really sums up why Pakistan's batting is so bad. He is not a good batsman at all. By the cricket discussions on this forum i gather that no one here has played too much street cricket. The quality of a batsman is to be able to hit a four or a six on any kind of delivery. A proper batsman is always attacking, just like a proper fast bowler is always fast. Once the batsman has the ability to hit boundaries off the best balls, then he is ready for top most level. Good batsmen are always those who used to smash it all over the park when they were younger. They can learn to pace their innings latter very easily. Those who have a placid approach from the start are not good batsmen and not fit for the top level. All the top batsmen in international cricket are always those who had very high strike rates in their domestic cricket before they became international players.

Younis himself has admitted he did not have talent for cricket but his ambition and perseverance brought hm to this level.

I think more than hitting boundaries, those two qualities are lasting and worth having. Younis a great man and a great player. He is the one who has anchored Pakistan batting in the last couple of years.

OMG. Ive received such fan boyish responses to what i said on this thread. You are all fan boys but i hate to watch cricket. Ive only played it, for a good ten years, in a highly competitive environment. This retard @save_ghenda is talking as if i am some afridi fan boy. There is a mismatch here, we are talking different languages, you guys are talking the 'watching' one, i am talking the 'playing' one. So got nothing say anymore.

If only you could have watched YK play, both inzy and YK have similar strike rate. What this tell us? That you are retarded and fool.

you are criticizing technique of a guy who has 30 centuries- 4 over 200+ scores i believe - who has the third overall best average of all time- is about to become the leading run scorer for Pakistan and holds dozen other world records-

who are you basically? -

younis scored all those runs while defending in singles- that too by leaning too much forward I suppose - with wide gaps betweem bat and pads- and with unstable head- isnt it?-
I m the guy who respects younis for his perseverance but doesnt think he s in the same league as legends
And his head is quite stable thats actually the best thing about him but he s not a model for future generations and i would like to see our batsmen be better equipped

I ll give u a better example can u call Fawad Alam a legend if he gets an average of above 50 in internationals
a great has stats or amazing technique
But a legend has both

Acha, if you know so much about technique and cricket, why don't you pick up your bat and go play? And show us all what you really are....other than the usual internet champion of everything Google.

I didnt Google anything and if our kids had coaches and resources we would have been world beaters
It pains me to see our kids suffer all bcoz Wasim Akram is too busy coaching Shami and Indian players looking like damn golden statues as compared to our players who dont lack anything but resources

A Legend is someone who carries entire weight of his team on his shoulders and still perform consistently. I won't rate Younis in that category. He is just a good player on his day, that's all.

. . .
Younis Khan is a living legend. He is a brilliant batsman, good fielder, amazing captain and a very humble and good human being

And a dam tough guy he is fasting even during the match

What a legend YK is:

Best Test Average in 4th innings (min 1000 runs): 60.59
Most 4th Innings centuries in Test History: 5

Compare that to Tendulkar's (4th innings avg: 37, centuries: 2).

Not trying to bellitle Tendulkar, just comparing YK with the best of recent era.. :D

.
Younis khan is a test player and a good one at that.
He is not suited for ODI, as seen by the number of abuses thrown at him by PDF members during last world cup

.
Younis Khan is only 18 runs away from becoming Pakistan's leading test scorer! :)

His current stats:

Tests: 101
Runs: 8814
Avg: 54.07

Highest run scorer for Pakistan:

Javed Miandad: 8832 runs.
Tests: 129

You go Younis Khan!!!
