Kathmandu: Nepal caretaker Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday claimed that Yoga originated in Nepal, adding that India wasn't around when Yoga started in the world.
"Yoga originated in Nepal, not in India. At the time when Yoga came into existence, there was no existence of India; it was divided into factions," caretaker Prime Minister Oli said.
Nobody knows its origins..but it is certain it originated in indian sub continent.
Making such statements and antagonizing india is not good for Nepal.

Nepal is a Hindu state, India isn't...looks plausible. Even Buddhists claim that Yoga belongs to them.

India, the current landmass was rife and ideal for invaders, plunderers and looters(as per the history taught in India), there were constant migration of people from a large area around India landmass, so chances are lots of these people with them brought the arts and crafts, the languages, the food and culture.

Very few things in India are intrinsic and original or vernacular.

Even the name 'India' is borrowed from a river in Pakistan the Indus, or the Sindhu river also called in India, and Sindh is in Pakistan.

From Biryani to Sherwani, Urdu and Ghazal...everything is borrowed and not original to India, and/or invaders developed and nurtured those, there are hundreds of such examples.

Urdu belongs to Pakistan? A lot of Pakistani guys can’t even pronounce the name of their own country, whenever I see a Pakistan taking the name of his country he only speaks Paxtan instead of Pakistan. Urdu originated in Uttar Pradesh. Indus before going to Pakistan flows from India, And when we talk about India we talk of Bharat when it was not colonised or invaded. You claim to be an Islamic country hence your Hindu past doesn’t belong to you anyway. I’ll explain you on Quora if you’re there.

Don't get it started....stirred a hornet nest.

Belongs to, originated from, developed there, used there, have different connotations. I didn't said Urdu originated from current Pakistan area. But Mughals different era footprints, where it was spoken and promoted is also in Pakistan landmass.

We all know how Indians call 'Phir' as fir, Zindagi as Jindagi, Ghazal as Gajal...

This is really funny...

When was India not colonized or invaded? Even ancestor of Mauryans who colonized Magadh were of Indo-Aryan stock (Vedic people) who came from Northern Pakistan. There was never a time when a large part of North India was not invaded or colonized.

It’s difficult to explain for me, so lets agree to disagree with each other.

Because we don’t have “z” sound in Hindi or Sanskrit, so all those persian words having z sound cause difficulties for Hindi speakers.

Yes I can understand...knew it. But listen to that Javed Akhtar clip...he was asking, true there is no 'zee' sound in Hindi, but why they call him Zaved Akhtar...

Maybe a fellow called him so, even Punjabi and Urdu has ”Kis” kis kaam se ja rahe ho, kis liye aaye ho etc, so please use it in Pakistan, it feels weird people mispronouncing their own country’s name as Paxtan🙂.

And got decimated in India, ironically, and flourished in Thailand, Burma, Indonesia...why??? there were no Brahmin narcissist tyrannical forces there to decimate and erase Buddhism as done in India.

How cleverly they say that Hinduism and Buddhism are similar, just as they say Sikhism, Jainism and Hinduism are all similar, part of Sanatan Dharma.

If you ask a Hindu extremist, he will say that Sikhism is very much a dharmic religion like Hinduism , under the umbrella term, Sanatan Dharma.
