Hindus force Muslims to Convert to Hindu in India

Close on the heels of the conversion by six Muslim families to Hinduism in Danodha Kalan village in Jind district, 30 families of the Muslim community today announced to convert to Hinduism in Bithmara village of Uklana block of the district.


Sources said that the Bithmara families have social relations with the families of Danodha Kalan. Like the Danodha Kalan families, these families too belong to the Mirasi Muslim community and work as Doms (traditional singers).

They took the decision to embrace Hinduism after the demise of an elderly woman Phulli Devi today. Satbir Ahlawat, son of the deceased, informed that his mother died today and his family cremated the body as per Hindu rituals.

“In official documents, we are Doms who are Scheduled Caste Hindus. Barring cremation, we have been following the socio-religious activities of the Hindus,” he said.

“Earlier, our families had been following the tradition of burying the dead as per Islam. But we have decided to do away with that tradition as well and decided to cremate the body of my mother as per Hindu traditions,” he maintained, adding that there are approximate 150 members in 30 families in the village.

He said that they never visit a mosque and, in fact, the village doesn’t have a mosque. “Our localities are close to Jat houses and we enjoy congenial social relations with them. We work as workers in their fields and also help them during social functions,” he added. Satish Patar, another villager, said that there have never been any fissures on communal lines in the village. “These people earn a living by working in the fields and by singing traditional ‘saangs’. If they have decided to convert to Hinduism, we welcome their decision. But there is no pressure on them to do so,” he said.

Wrong .... It has Four criteria.
1. It cannot be forced
2. The girl must be of age.
3. It must be from her own choice.
4. And there cannot be any abuse in involved.

Where do they conjure up these "statistics" from? Reminds me of Iraqi WMDs. As if these people have gone and verified these thousands of supposed cases and figured out if they were forced or not. Or if all of them (or even a significant number) are minors.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Such cases probably do happen but the phenomenon is almost certainly overhyped for various reasons.

I actually thought marriage to a 14 year old was not legal any more regardless of religion.

Here in the US legal age limit can be ignored provided the parents agree. I think my state of Texas is 14.I am sure there are some forced ones but plenty of nonuslim girls elope as their parents threaten to kill them if they marry outside religion. It's more prevalent in Christian community. I remember this Christin chic. She had just turned 15 and asked me if I wanted to be her friend with benefits. Needless to say, I walked away. I was like 27 at the time and visiting. She was very pretty and from good family.

No denial. But exaggeration is highly probable. In any case, the numbers are irrelevant. A single such case is a failure of the Pakistani state and something must be done to ensure all Pakistanis feel safe to raise their daughters in Pakistan. Punishment should be severe - but it already is. Greater vigilance and security measures are needed then for minority groups perhaps. Deterrence would be the key here.

or after their alleged kidnap and married life let say after 5-10 years .... ??? to highlight the their plight of 'after force marriage life' .... ???

why these news vanish after some of the hearings in courts even in those case which were contested in high courts .... ???

why NGOs and media dump them .... ????

How many cases of these victims decided by lower courts are challenged in High courts .... ???

and in how many cases respective High courts have given decision against lower court decision .... ???

Why pressure groups [which are nothing more the propaganda groups] don't pursue the cases of these victims in Supreme court .... ???

Why the cases of these victims don't win any support from their own religious and community leaders .... ???

And firstly, before I share sources, I think it would be nice if our analyst here answered this understanding he lives in Pakistan and not the United States.

a. Police reluctance to register cases, investigate, and sometimes are part of the crime.
b. Intimidation and threat to victims.
c. In most cases, the custody of the victim remains with the abductor during the trial.
d. Discrimination by jury, and they're also part of the problem many times.
e. Abductor gives a false testimony of the girl, and that is used as evidence. Cases are thrown out.

Every possible kind of source you could imagine, and every kind of institution. Admit there's a problem, instead of living in denial.

Fair play. This shouldn't be dismissed as propaganda. Pakistan must protect its minorities better. I'm not saying Pakistan is a hell hole for minorities because it certainly isn't. Non-muslims aren't scared to walk the streets and conduct their business for instance. But we can and must do better against the particular phenomenon you highlighted. Emphasis needs to come from the top so that the miscreants know where the nation actually stands on such issues.
