Yaxi highway, a 240-kilometer-long road connecting Ya'an and Xichang in southwest China's Sichuan province, is regarded as a "ladder-like sky road". The road is a combination of viaducts and tunnels. The total length of the 25 tunnels along the road is about 41 kilometers. For more pics:

Actually the most complicated control-access expressway is Hubei Province section of G50 national expressway.(Shanghai-Chongqing) and G42 (Shanghai-Chengdu)

Siduhe Bridge, the highest bridge in the world.
(However, in 2015 it will be No.2 and in 2016 No.3, surpassed by expressway bridges in Guizhou Province)

the chinese love building these sort of roads, but i wonder how do they cope against the wrath of mother nature.

. .
Cowards would simply back off and out from building and construction for something meaningful,
These undertakings are magnificent and undaunted!
Great engineering China!

Chinese don't want to build these, but they have to, for the benefits of local people in the remote mountainous region and integrate Chinese economy as a whole.

Consider Hefei-Fuzhou HSR will be open in July, we can travel from UNESCO heritage sites in Anhui Province to Jiangxi Province's highlights, like Sanqing Mountain and Wuyuan County and future travel to costal Fujian Province.

The most regretful thing about my trip to southern Anhui this month was not having enough time for Jiangxi Province, traveling by expressway is still a little bit painful. Wuyuan and southern Anhui actually belong to the same Huizhou culture and the same prefecture in history.

The latest news is on 1st July , 39 pairs of trains per day for the initial phase.

hope china will help building infrastructure in developing countries thru AIIB.

“Dear President, how can we help your country?” - AIIB

. .
Only China can accomplished such magnificent feat.
Chinese engineers have desgined the most complicated bridges and expressways in human history. Their experience and expertise can be used for infrastructure construction in other developing countries with financial support from AIIB.

I tell you what, the american and western will then come in and criticise these infrastructure as ecology destroyer and claim Chinese as bad.
I still remember how west claim China three geoge dam is a evil project that destroy natural habitat, ecosystem and force evacuation with its motive of only land grapping.

But the west will omit, the dam stopped flood and save the possible millions of Chinese lives living near the river. What is the point of holding those land if you are going to be destroy by flood? So the natural habitat and animals lives are more important than Chinese lives?

Only white man lives are precious. Chinese lives are lower than animals?

The white will never made a big whooha of Chinese achievement. They are a batch of self bragging ,selfish hyprocrite.
