Very soon we may be fortunate enough to witness a Wasim Akram-Brett Lee type combo, rolled into one explosive package called the 'Jan Thunderbolt'.

Pakistan has never ceased to surprise when it comes to its bowling prowess, and this new find is, well, twice the surprise, literally.

The country continues to produce fast bowlers like water flowing out of a tap and one such late find is teenager Yasir Jan, who can bowl with both hands at speeds averaging 140-145km/hr (85-90mph).

Former Pakistan pacer Aaqib Javed, who coached the UAE team, knows too well when he sees genuine talent, especially when it comes to raw pace and that too when one can bowl with two hands.

Javed, after returning to Pakistan from the UAE, has taken up the coaching job at Lahore Qalandars, who played in the UAE last season in the Pakistan Super league.

In the Rawalpindi trial hunt for the Qalandars, Javed was immediately impressed by what he saw at the nets.

"One year would probably be the time required to mould and groom Jan from this stage," Javed told Geo News.

"I have been bowling regularly since 15 in representative matches for my age. I can bowl steadily and consistently with pace, the right hand being more reliable when it comes to sustaining speed while my left hand deliveries get extra lift and bounce," 17-year Jan told Pakistan broadcast and print media.

?Javed has been on a nationwide talent hunt programme organised by him in the major centres in Pakistan where thousands of youngsters have so far turned up at the selection nets for a chance to get selected for the Qalandars.

Jan, a Charsadda (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) native has impressed not only Javed but a number of other cricketers, Kamran Akmal included.

"Jan is genuine talent no doubt. Never seen anything like the stuff he is capable of, ever," said Akmal while speaking to TV journalists on Sunday.

There are possibilities that Jan could be part of an Australian talent programme like other quickies from Pakistan who have sought openings for their talent abroad, according to Australian media.

Cricket law has provisions for a bowler with such skills but he or she has to inform the umpire before changing his/her bowling hand at the start of an over.

Very soon we may be fortunate enough to witness a Wasim Akram-Brett Lee type combo, rolled into one explosive package called the 'Jan Thunderbolt' with delivery at your doorstep in lightning speed.
