New Delhi,April 4

An Indian Army patrol along with a police representative has recovered the wreckage of a World War II vintage US Air Force aircraft in Roing district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The patrol located the aircraft debris covered by thick undergrowth and buried under five feet of snow on March 30.

During the World War (1939-1945), the allies—the US, the UK and France--used China as a base to launch against the imperial Japan.
The US planes regularly flew sorties from Panagarh in West Bengal to locations in China.

The route was over Arunachal Pradesh. Several such planes crashed. The US Department of Defence has been asking the Indian government to allow access to these sites.

The latest finding of the debris was based on the information received from local trekkers of Lower Dibang district. A special patrol of the Army was sent to locate the wreckage in a remote location, 30 km from Roing.

The patrol moved across the country for 30 kilometres in thick jungles and snow-covered areas for eight days to trace out the wreckage. The region had seldom been ventured by anyone in the past and is even obscured from air due to thick foliage.

The discovery of the vintage aircraft and other warlike stores would lead to revelation of some historical inputs, a spokesperson of the Army said

What type though?
Could likely be a RIAF B-24 or maybe an IAF one as well.
That Transmitter went on B-24s and B-17s so its possible that it is a RAF or maybe even an IAF one.

Surely the two governments can work together to identify the aircraft and any remains, if any, to be buried properly.

Not an expert in this field, just found the article and thought it was interesting. I am looking forward to what Joe has to say.

BTW thank you for deleting those troll posts, I did not even look at them but I have a feeling they were up to no good.

I believe that there are security concerns due to Arunachal being a very sensitive area, so India is reluctant to allow the US military access.

Perhaps Indian teams can do the groundwork to help with identification?

It’s too early to assume these were USAF planes(but could be). A lot of Burma and China ops were RAF but then that transmitter type is either a B-24 or a B-17.

. . . .
Further proof that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of China.

This is not Pakistan. Only cowards give territory. Pakistan can become integral part not Arunachal.

Future of Pakistan is in the video above. Ask a turk & they will confirm. Tibet has suffered, not Arunachal.

70 years China could not do anything. Today China has no balls to run into conflict with India. They can bully their smaller neighbors not India.

Man the article did not even mention Pakistan or China. Are some Pakistanis really that butthurt that Arunachal Pradesh is a part of India? Because the funny thing is China itself does not really care. It sounds like they are concerned their only notable ally is becoming more neutral every day.
