Women serving as security forces in India.
For the past six decades now, since India gained independence from British rule Indian men alone have been seen guarding the international borders of the country.
But now not any more, since Indias first women battalion is ready to play their part for their countrys safety.
Many young women from all across India have come forward to join countrys border security force in order to prove that they are no less than men to safe guard India.
Reena Rani is one among these ladies who have joined the force recently to fulfill their dreams.
She added women in India have always been kept indoors, but now there is a way forward for the women.
For the first time in Indian history, with their 36 week hard training, the new border security force women see themselves capable of guarding the international borders of India.
These women have been trained in weapon handling, intelligence, border management, sports, unarmed combat, frisking and guard duties.
And after the success of having women border guards, thousands of other women all across India will come to join the force. Recently joined Parminder Kour says that she was really excited to join the military force and come to the border but it is not easy, for sure.
The border security force guards the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and the country's 6,622 km borders with Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
