Despite having a home in India, Tushar Kanti Saha working as the Additional Chief Engineer of the Sylhet Zone of the Roads and Highways Department of Bangladesh. রোববার (২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর) সংসদ ভবনে অনুষ্ঠিত সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতু মন্ত্রণালয় সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটির বৈঠকে বিষয়টি উঠেছে। কমিটির সভাপতি মো. একাব্বর হোসেন এ বৈঠকে সভাপতিত্ব করেন।
ভারতে বাড়ি থাকার পরও বাংলাদেশ সরকারের একটি দায়িত্বশীল মন্ত্রণালয়ের অধীনে কিভাবে চাকরি করেন। এ নিয়ে বৈঠকে জানানো হয়, সড়ক ও জনপথ অধিদপ্তরের সিলেট জোনের অতিরিক্ত প্রধান প্রকৌশলী তুষার কান্তি সাহার বিরুদ্ধে এই অভিযোগ উত্থাপিত হয় সংসদীয় কমিটিতে। সিলেটে থাকলেও প্রায় তিনি অবৈধভাবে ভারতে যাওয়া আসা করেন।

প্রকৌশলী তুষার কান্তি সাহার বিরুদ্ধে বিভিন্ন ধরনের দুর্নীতির অভিযোগ রয়েছে। বিষয়টি খতিয়ে দেখতে সড়ক পরিবহন ও মহাসড়ক বিভাগের সচিব ও যুগ্ম সচিবকে তদন্তের দায়িত্ব দিয়েছিল সংসদীয় কমিটি। সেই তদন্তে তুষার কান্তি সাহাকে দোষীও করা হয়নি, আবার ছাড়ও দেওয়া হয়নি। এমন তদন্তের কারণে আবারও তুষার কান্তির বিষয়ে তদন্ত শুরু করা হবে।

দায়সারাভাবে তদন্ত হওয়ায় প্রতিবেদনটি আমলে নেয়নি সংসদীয় কমিটি। এবার সচিবকে দিয়ে নতুন করে তদন্ত করতে বলা হয়েছে। সচিব না পারলে অন্তত অতিরিক্ত সচিব মর্যাদার কাউকে দিয়ে তদন্ত করার কথা বলেছে সংসদীয় কমিটি। আগামী ১০ দিনের মধ্যে এ সংক্রান্ত পূর্ণাঙ্গ প্রতিবেদন দেওয়ার জন্য সচিবকে বলা হয়েছে।

বৈঠক শেষে সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতু মন্ত্রণালয় সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটির সভাপতি মো. একাব্বর হোসেন বলেন, তুষার কান্তি সাহার বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ উঠেছে। সরকারি কর্মকর্তা কিভাবে অবৈধ পাসপোর্ট নিয়ে অন্য দেশে বসবাস করেন। বিষয়টি নিয়ে একবার তদন্ত হয়েছে, সঠিক তথ্য জানতে ফের তদন্ত করা হবে।

Do you have any idea on the code of conduct of the Bangladeshi government officials? It’s not permissible to go outside of Bangladesh without government approval let alone buying a property in another country. Also it’s required to disclose wealth statement whenever requested.

Plus this is also prohibited to obtain foreign passport or residency.

Now when he purchased the property in India he had to disclose his citizenship, identity, income tax number etc. Do you think a Bangladeshi without disclosing income source can purchase property in India?

Stop conflating unrelated things.... india has specific law banning indians from owning property in BD and has instituted CAA targeting muslims. There is absolutely no reason we should tolerate hindutva excess in BD.
