What's new

With a 6% growth forecast, Bangladesh is set to be world’s fastest growing economy

With export falling by, say, @$10 billion per year there is no way to a GDP growth. This year the effects of corona were felt after March. But, next fiscal it will be seen from July.

I hope the newly developed medicines will cause the suppression of the pandemic. That will again reverse the situation.

I wouldn't get my hopes up.

The next two years are going to make or break Bangladesh.

I sincerely hope the policymakers are aware of the tense situation we find ourselves in as a country and take the necessary measures to see us through this hard time.

Our country that is plagued by poverty, backward populace and battered by natural disasters was for once moving towards the right track despite poor leadership and corruption but as fate would have it, all it took was a pangolin (or bat) to deflate the wheels of development.

The ill fate will not impose on us permanently. We have to withstand the effects of pandemic like other countries and things will change if this dreadful disease goes away by vaccination and medical treatments. We will certainly come back after the end of corona.

This is what I see every morning, when I read the news whilst having my breakfast.

Well for jobs, it is depend on the availability of jobs itself. Civil servant in in the lower ranks (like teacher, clerck and so on) in Jakarta can get take home pay at least 869-1,100 US dollar per month. If you are working in heavy industry as technician as fresh graduate the expected take home pay is at least 600- 1,200 US dollar per month, as admin in bank can get you around 400-600 US dollar per month and so on.

Excellent. Countries pulling themselves up from their bootstraps through sheer hard work and trade.
No continuous demands of aid while living beyond their means.

I was in bali in November 2019 for a week on a holiday.
Very beautiful place , more visibly hindu than even India. Right from the airport to their tourist places, to the small neighborhood temples , the roundabouts, the religion is very prominent.
The cleanliness is excellent and if Indonesia is this clean all over , it's a testament to their standard of living.
