What are the views of Pakistan defeating its internal extremists/terrorists?

Will Pakistan defeat these vermons? How long and hard is the fight going to be?

What is Pakistan currently doing to rid the country of this *****?

Should Pakistan reconsider its decision to not allow U.S. intervention? Why or why not?

Pakistan can if it counters all forms of extremism / terror groups existing in Pakistan and not try to do that selectively. If you pamper one group because it serves your strategic goals, like AT in last 2 decades, then one day it becomes strong enough to challenge the state itself. TTP has originated from that policy only. Today Pakistan is repeating the same mistake with India centric terror groups that it made with Afghanistan centric groups in 1990's . So unless Pakistan can break away from this trend of selective countering of terror groups, it can not succeed in the long term

I think Pakistan should allow the U.S. to intervene so they can help wipe them out before it gets too late. Its obvious the U.S. is not going to take over Pakistan, so I don't know what the Pakistani government is worried about.
It doesn't seem like Pakistan is in complete control as they are still negotiating with the Taliban for peace. And by doing this Pakistan is showing weakness to these extremeists and to the rest of the world. This isn't happening to any other country in the world except Pakistan (Iraq and Afghanistan don't count). This is getting embarrassing.

How does Asif Ali Zardari get elected? This guy does not even have a college degree, he previously stole money from the government with Benazir Bhutto and he wins the election? What is wrong with Pakistanis? Was there no better alternative?

That is the specialty of South Asian politics :D

Will Pakistan Win in its War on Terror?
===========
InshALLAH not only war on terror as understood by everyone but also the war on real terrorists,,,

Because we refuse to giveup,,,

To my LOVE; Pakistan...

It's kinda funny how life can change
Can flip 180 in a matter of days
Sometimes love works in mysterious ways
One day you wake up gone without a trace

I refuse to give up
I refuse to give in
You're my everything
I don't wanna give up
I don't wanna give in
So Everybody sing

One love - for the mother's pride
One love - for the times we cried
One love - gotta stay alive
Ooo, I will survive

One love - for the city streets
One love - for the hip-hop beats
One love, Oh I do believe
One love is all we need

I refuse to give up
I refuse to give in
You're my everything..... Pakistan

:victory::victory: So let me get this straight you want Pakistan to invite USA to help fight the insurgency. Fair enough since US is already providing lot of logistic support plus few personnel for training purposes. That means you are announcing to the whole world your incapable of winning over this insurgency. So the world is rightly to be worried about Pakistans Nuclear Assets. It will start with boots on the ground and I dont need to tell you where it will end.
We had already surrendered our sovereignty and dignity to the Americans on just one phone call ( a unique incident in the world history) and you want to further it by a complete surrender. Besides US is already loosing in Afghanistan so what makes them an expert at defeating insurgencies. Sure they are an expert at creating them (Official US special Forces website claims that not me), but they have not demonstrated beating any yet. Sorry but this idea is ridiculous. :hitwall::hitwall:
I also understand the frustration over recent events but insurgencies can not defeated in days or months it takes years. Pakistan Army is doing a excellent job against these terrorists. Their job is only made complicated by the political instability of Pakistan as the political elite is only interested in safe guarding themselves with little or no interest in what is happening around them. Pakistan needs to develop a comprehensive counter terrorism strategy and end ad-hocism, but this can only happen if the government get its act together.
Indeed these terrorists are getting support from other countries be it US, India or Israel, but the reality is first we need to clean our own house because there are local supporters as well.

You need to educate yourself first about Pakistan and its affairs and then carry on with your analysis. Zardari was not elected but he had the blessings of becoming the Chairman of PPP after Benaizr's death and since PPP won the election, the Chairman of the party has become the President. Although he could choose someone else (Makhdoom Amin Faheem were suppose to be the President after Benazir's death).

I understand your frustration as recent events have unnerved us. Terrorists wanted to counter the losses they have suffered at the hands of army. Obviously they wanted to give the message that they are still strong but they are not. They have lost 80 % of their bases but that doesn't mean they are gone. Talibanistion is an ideology that will take time to go away. Military power alone is not enough. We need to be patient and vigilant. I guess it will take one year more to completely crush them. I have full trust in army and i am sure that they will be able to do it. But for peace we have to wait even more.:frown:

They have to win, there is no any other choice. If they are not destroyed, they will destroy pakistan.

They have lost 80 % of their bases but that doesn't mean they are gone.

Losing their bases is not that important. They have still got the capability to muerder people. they melted down among the population, they wear the same cloths , they look the same as civilians, how can you spot and stop them?

Pakistan first of all need to have a clear vision.. what they are dealing with

In a single day people come up with the TTP as
Blackwater
Indian RAW hindu Agents
Actual locals with indian support
CIA agents
Mossad agents
Afghan Taliban
blah blah.........

and many more.

I am sorry to say People still are meddling with the consipiracy theories to identify the real culprit out here. The force which people are fighting is unknown to people. Some say Indian some say Indigenous. Success would come if they first identify the problem. But the problem itself is the biggest problem here

Media is playing cheap games on the name of TRP and feeding people with the sensational news in wake of which the truth has been graved somewhere.

Well, Pakistan pr today have more pressure and Terror problems than any other State in The World.

1. Indian Terrorism in Pakistan
2. US Drone Attacks.
3. Threats from US & India all the time
4. Suicide Attacks & Bomb Blasts.
5. The poor culture that we got from Afghanistan after USSR collapse.'
