It will be a blunder I think. Bangladeshi film industry will collapse completely once Hindi films are allowed. Slowly dream of RSS will be fulfilled to make Akhand Bharat if such cultural disaster is allowed. :nono:

No, it will not.

It will kill our crippled film industry.

Don't know what has influenced font) govt to take such radical decision.

Certainly not, this section is actually the spam box of PDF; unwanted and irritating stuff day in day out. :close_tema:
Still better than most of the other sections of this forum which is filled with irrelevant rape news.

This section is dedicated to all the important news related to BD and this news regarding the importation of Bollywood film is very important to us since it can have an detrimental effect on our own film industry.

Your people are watching all the Bollywood movies anyway, it's just a way of legalizing and opportunity to rake in the moolah.

Yes

But ppl r watching it on their laptop or TV. Now these films will take the tiny little place that was exclusive to our own films ie theaters.

It's a great news for the cinema hall owners, but certainly a grave news for the film makers, producers and overall all the people who care about our own film industry.

I understand your concern, but let people make their choice. In Assam, there was a talk of mandatory viewing of regional films along with Bollywood. Better sense prevailed, filmmakers were sort of forced to make better movies. We now have a situation where good Assamese films as well as Bollywood movies draw equal crowds.

Why so afraid to compete in a healthy atmosphere ??? Ain't have the confidence on the strength of your culture, films and film makers, huh ??? ;)

i guess banning entertainment and soft image of neighbors becomes tradition in South Asia of course started by India. But i think competition is always good a decade ago indian dramas were popular in Pakistan the same way back in 80s Pakistanis dramas were popular in India but Pakistan govt decided not to ban anything but suddenly in competition Pakistanis dramas from last 5 to 6 years started gaining more popularity and now no one even knows if indian drama channels are on air or banned in Pakistan as no one watch them any more, same is happening with Pakistan film industry as now Pakistan is producing films which doing business of more then 30 or 40 or 50 crores which is becoming a normal benchmark despite other films not banned.

Regional films will always exist.
But Bollywood tends to make movies that are bigger in scope, than most. It also enjoys a high degree of freedom of content, comparable to the west.
The only significant alternative to Bollywood is Hollywood, and most people in the subcontinent will struggle with the latter.

India still has flourishing Punjabi, Telegu, Bengali, Tamil, kannada, malayalam, bhojpuri movie industries. But the middle and upper classes don't want to limit themselves to regional movies. It is probably the same in your country.

Joint venture Bengali films are made quite often but Hindi language films are very big in scale and production and there is language issue ( sounds similar to Urdu, against which Bangladeshis fought in 1952), also if Hindi films are allowed whatever little difference between Indians and Bangladeshis have in culture will be gone because bollywood has strong impact on overall youth. So future generation might start speaking Hindi openly on street.

You must understand that your people were agitating against the arbitrary imposition of Urdu by West Pakistan, vilifying the language itself makes no sense. Urdu serves as a link language for the Pakistanis, it is as alien to a Baloch or Pukhtoon as Hindi is to us Assamese. We love our mother tongue but that doesn't stop us enjoying Hindi songs and movies.

Had i been a BDeshi i would be very worried about my country's future if people there believed that their children would start conversing in Hindi just after watching bollywood cinema.
