Just been watching an amazing series, Doco series on India its called Wildest India, just amazing the natural beauty of the country, it has been shown on SBS here in Australia over the last few weeks, it's a 5 part series.

I think you guys should try and get your hands on it, the one think I would love for India to do is try and clean up it's environment, there is so much beauty in India, that is unfortunately being destroyed.

Hope you guys watch this series it will give you the Indian people a new appreciation of your amazing country.

Inspired by the huge success and influence of Bollywood movies, SBS is bringing a taste of Bollywood to Australia with a brand new show, Bollywood Star.

This four-part series, made for SBS by WTFN
Entertainment (Bondi Vet, Keeping up with the Joneses), follows the search for an Australian Bollywood star: an unknown who will go on to win the prize of a lifetime – renowned Bollywood producer and director Mahesh Bhatt is offering a coveted place in his next movie to one Australian to become the next Bollywood Star.

Yes the Bollywood Star series is starting in May sometime I think, SBS show movies and docos from allover the world, they have shown a ton of Indian moves etc.

Yes, India is indeed a wild country. Had a chance to vist a few of those forests. Having said that, India needs to preserve them, or else with boneless laws they will soon be history.

Yes I watched this series here in UK on "Nat Geo Wild" and even though I knew about Indian diversity I had no idea of the scale of it- INCREDIBLE. Like was pointed out on the show, no where else in the world do certain creatures live together. And yes India does need to fight hard to preserve this magnificent diversity with new iniatives life NDTV's "SAVE THE TIGERS" and other awareness schemes I hope India has a good cap nance at being successful. It would be a travesty for such wonders to not exist in India in the future.


+ no idea India had LIONS (other than Sikhs lol!)!!

I too amazed by India and its geography. My frnd has said India has never invaded any country for the apst 10000 years. tats amazing. Many foreign countries invaded but still India shows great improvement. But still India has to learn a lot from China too.

Gir National Park in Gujarat is the last remaining habitat of Asiatic Lions.

Lions at Gir forest , Gujarat. And we have Great Indian One Horned Rhino at Karziranga national park, Assam, Red Panda in northeast region , Tiger reserves in WB(Royal bengal tiger) and western ghats , Birds sanctuary at Vedanthaagal etc,.

No need to worry, me and the wife have been telling and trying to explain to the kids what they will see, our main worry is how my kids will react to the extreme poverty, but they are intelligent kids and love to learn and have good hearts. I know India is full of extremes and contradictions, I know there are a lot of problems in India, but I also know there are a lot of good things as well.

I know we will be shocked at the poverty but also amazed and the beauty of the people, the warmth and the smiles, it is going to be a learning experience for me and the family, it's going to be shocking and its going to be awesome, my friends who have been to India have told me a lot the good bad bad.

We can't wait to get to your beautiful country which is full of contradictions and extremes, we can;t wait to be in the middle of it, any tips from you guys would be most welcome.

Six tips to enjoy not survive in India
1.Don't entertain beggars or try to be too friendly with poor people.

2.Bring you own toilet paper and don't try street food and that too with kids.Same stuff can be availed at some good Indian restaurant with hygiene and comfort.

3.Don't be a hippie as you have a family with kids, take a clean and hygienic accommodation with good and clean food.Say no to PAHARGANJ if you arrive in DELHI because it is for backpackers and hippies not for a family tourist like you.

4.Star from Delhi as it lies at the heart of several important tourists place in India.

5.Use railways for traveling and that too AC1 coaches because they have privacy and comfort.Don't try to travel in General and sleeper class like most foreigners do just to experience REAL INDIA.every express train has it.

6.Best time to visit is November or February as the weather is very nice.

We only have five weeks unfortunately and I know some of my friends stay for months and tell me they haven't even scratched the surface.

Is there a few places where we can do some voluntary work as well? Would voe to help out in a small way to the people who are unlucky enough to have a lot less than us.

a good way to inject moral values in your lil ones... in India there is a saying that "there is no time and place to do good work"..I think that if you visit some remote Himalayan place like Leh or Ladakh or Kashmir..you may donate some books and stationary to those kids as still in remote areas formal schooling is not found..you can contact any NGO like C.R.Y. or simply buy some being human t shirts.
