How sure are you it came from them? Could it not be practiced in India just like it was/ still is practiced in some parts of Africa and was there in Egypt! Because Islam abolished it and those Arabs who came to India were Muslims...

Headache.

I give up.

One more Zoroastrian falls to Islam. :butcher:

Steaming bull dung sir.

You prophet and his armies very much during his lifetime waged war on Mecca and Medina sir.

Then they launched their Jihad (also commonly called the Mohammedan Wars) against Persia sir.

Where it was all sword sir. No free love.

Then they turned on India sir. Though admittedly long after your prophet.

How about you go really educate yourself? Find out how many times the holy prophet and his companions were attacked and war thrust upon them. Did the prophet initiate wars or did he bring the wars to their natural conclusion??

You do not know Islam...THAT IS clear! Otherwise you would not say all this!
Ayurvedic and acupuncture did not turn up yesterday on your doorstep!

I leave the Islam bit out.... Ayurveda & acupuncture are not substitutes for allopathy. Ask Steve Jobs what happens when one tries alternate therapies for a serious disease. They are simply fads for the most part, just like religion. Ask any Ayurvedic doctor in India this. They were on strike recently because of a proposed law banning them from prescribing allopathic medicines. Not even they buy the "solution" they are supposed to sell.

I am not here to defend anyone, I rather agree with your posts. Both husband and wife have rights over each other, it's not just the husband who enjoys rights.

Good to hear! Not my primary objective which was just pointing out the differences! ;)
Listen, we all believe that paradise lies under the feet of one's mother, can any man top that position? Perhaps Zarvan is unable to explain himself

I realize!
but as far as I understand, my mrs. is free to make her own decisions. Besides, a woman is entrusted with the upbringing of her children....the next generation so nobody can even imagine a woman to be incapable.

The very point I brought up!
I am personally biased and sexist as I personally believe that women and men are not equal. I believe that women are superior to men ............. that's my point of view established because of my interaction with my mother.

Well, I do not talk of superiority! Islam said they are equal in their own fields I agree...Now I need to do some work before my supervisor comes in!

Sorry I got a bit preoccupied. They broke the KFC across the street from my office going towards the governor house .. anyway .. where were we?

Those examples were in reply to evolution of Religion...IF the basic theory of a medicine is not changed over years....HOW can the basic theory of religion change? Plus I gave the simplest example of translation change somewhere...If you are real to your curiosity you will search it :)

It is somewhere on this thread between pages 25 to now!

You left battling one.

You have two more now.

We call it evolving for the better future...Lolzz...I am only on the side of the truth...I will not fake it if I do not know something! I will not make up some stories to proof something and I will for sure not support crap unless it makes sense! :)

Actually NO! As per my understanding:

Allah has made the man responsible for his wife and his children (as well as parents but for the sake of this topic, we shall stick to wife and kids). The burden is on the man here to work and to provide for his family. Just as a Qazi (Judge) is responsible for justice, Khalifah (ruler) responsible for the welfare of his subjects, similarly the man is responsible for his wife and children.

The woman does not have to seek a career or a job unless she absolutely has to (for financial reasons) and then there are ways to do that. She can seek permission from the husband (if she has one else she must first try and find a reasonable man to marry and take care of her), this does not mean that the husband is her master but that the husband takes responsibility in front of Allah even for allowing her to work. Similarly, Hijaab is a binding from Allah and husband is responsible to ensure commitment.

I have been told that 4 women will drag a man to hell:

1) his mother,
2) his sister,
3) his wife and
4) his daughter

What that means is that the man is responsible for these women in his life, he has to ensure that these women follow the religion as laid down and any deviance will hold the man accountable as well. Basically, the man has been made responsible for a lot of things and is accountable and answerable for them all.

I see you have listed the many points that women can do.. What would be the role of a woman per your understanding?

Only one person can drag a person to hell and that is his own self. You will not be answerable for anyone or anything come judgement day.

If you want I can list the particular ayah .. copy pasting google is not my forte.

That's the problem. Religion doesn't change, people do. If people want to impose a 1000,2000 or 5000 year philosophy today and claim it to be the only way, obviously we have a problem. Btw, your not believing that change is necessary is exactly the problem. Change is always necessary. You won't directly submit yourself to a 1000 year medical treatment without allowing for the evolution of the same, why should religion be any different?

Actually you'd be surprised. But that's not the correct analogy or example. Medical treatment that we may have had 1000/5000 years ago, however effective or ineffective, has not been sent by God as His word so it changes. Infact, muslim men and women are bound to seek education. There was a time when Muslims were the pioneers in math, algebra, chemistry etc. The reason is that Allah has given us intelligence for a purpose and He has directed us to seek knowledge.

However, the word of God is not bound by time or space. It is not bound by the physical laws as everything and everyone submits to Him alone.

Like did you know that burying female newborns was an ancient Arab tribal practice long before it came to India?

Not a part of Islam per se, but passed down to the sub-continent by Arab invaders.

Illustrating well the difference between formalized religion and adaptive culture.

Correct and incorrect in the same sentence. burying newborns was indeed an ancient Arab custom and practice long before Muhammad and it was Islam that expressly forbade it. However, Hindus not only bury their infant girls, they also burn the dead men's wives on the pyres of their dead husbands....while they are still alive!
