When people of third world dont care, why should the west care? In last 5-6 years 2 bigtime Gujju scammers from India fled to the UK after committing frauds worth billions(Several months after their fraud was found). Fault lies with the people who let them flee. Question becomes: why cant we be the hotbed of international corruption? Why wont drug dealers and corrupt officials from other nations park their wealth here? We need a strong banking sytem and market ourselves like the swiss. We will get valuable forex. If we can become the destination for shell companies, off shore accounts and other money laundering services, we could get out of the economic crunch.

Would any global south country give up huge chunk of money voluntarily? If forexample a westerner brought few billions of dollars with him/her, and the goverment of new host nation could get away not returning the fugitive, would the billionaire fugitive get arrested and sent back to his country?

The major issue here is the corrupt system itself. Why and how are these corrupt individuals allowed to amass such large wealth in the first place? Its a systemic failure of a nation itself.

Btw there are many western tax evading a@@holes who seek refuge in tax havens like Nassau, Cayman or Jersey etc.
