Since every thread turns into India V Pakistan stick measuring competition and chest thumping banter, let's pause and be realistic for the comparison between IAF and PAF operational procedures as, here are some stark realities without prejudice, to ponder about.
The IAF units are equipped with the SU-30s, MIG-29s and Jaguar air crafts, all twin engine machines, it also has single engine Mirage-2000, MIG-21/27 in it's inventory, however when was the last time the latter so much as even participated in the Indian Republic Day Flypast, in the recent past, this exercise has been carried out due to safety reasons by only the twin engine jets. More over, as far as one can recall, in it's overseas International exercises, the IAF has mostly deployed the SU-30s. On the other hand, the only twin engine aircraft in PAF's inventory, the A-5 Fantan is in a phase out process only to be replaced by an other single engine fighter the JF-17 Thunder. Albeit, the Thunder has recently entered Squadron service, the PAF had enough confidence to fly it out to UK and China to participate in respective air shows, but it was a lack lustre display of seeing the LCA being driven past the saluting dais perched on a clumsy platform. Furthermore, as the PAF progressively participates in International Exercises, it not only deploys the trustworthy F-16s but even the Mirages and F-7s are flown out to engage against the top line combatants in DACT and other missions.
Doesn't this leave a question of moral.?? !!
