We all know that Maryam Safdar bibi is being prepared to step in her fathers place but why not Shahbaz Sharif?

Shahbaz Sharif has consolidated his brothers rule every time it was in tatters. If it were not for the personal assurances to establishment by Shahbaz Sharif along with ch Nisar on so many occasions that either saved his elder brothers rule or then helped in its ascendancy to power despite serious reservations to security of the state and its evolving interests with Nawaz Sharif at the helm.

Take for example, Nawaz Sharif and his perpetual love for Indian leadership and businessmen and even the likes of Modi is admired to a level trust by Nawaz Sharif which does not sit well with any Pakistani, let alone its establishment.

So my question is why not a trustworthy brother Shahbaz Sharif trusted instead of a twitter sloppy daughter who's interview is more of lingering embarrassment than any point scoring by political opponents?

I don't think Shabaz Sharif would replace his brother for three reasons:

1) they need him to win Punjab

2) having been CM for so long, he carries a very strong Punjab label to win votes in other provinces

3) he doesn't seem to have the personality to gain mass support to be PM

That said, he is a million times better than Maryam Nawaz who would be an absolutely terrible choice.

Why can't we have someone other than a Sharif take over the helm of PML(N)? Is there anyone else in that party with the potential to be future PM?

Frankly speaking if Mariyum nawaz dramabaz who is now dadi/nani have problem going to JIT alone then she shouldn't become PM. Pakistan politics are male dominated and she will have to deal with them everyday alone. I bet she will not mind that after becoming PM.

The only people i can think of that are in a position to take over the PM slot from NS would be Ch. Nisar and Ahsan Iqbal.

Politics is also a game of thrones.
You choose friends and your supporters over the rest of the outside world.
Then you choose family over friends.
Then you choose your children over your other relatives.
In some cultures, that's how it has always been, how it is likely to be for a long time.
