Why is Pakistan not attracting foreign visitors and tourists to its wonders? Pakistan, despite its problems has so much to offer for tourists, sight seeing, historical buildings, majestic natural beauty spots and wonders, hospitable friendly people, religious pilgrimage celebrations of other faiths. I see many vloggers on YouTube, single young western people exploring India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal etc showcasing the wonderful culture of these countries and attracting many positive comments from thousands of viewes. However unfortunatly hardly any videos relate to Pakistan. Yes there are two or three videos of foreigners visting Gilgit Baltistan and yes terrorist attacks occur in far corners of the country but security has significantly improved. In recent years Terrorism has badly affected Tunisa, Egypt, Turkey and in some ways Jordan and Morrocco but still these Muslim dominated nations still flourish in tourism attracting many westerners and visitors from beyond. So what's wrong with visiting Pakistan?

Bad Marketing.

We have bad marketing. We need to advertise Pakistan better.

We should market Pakistan as an exotic country.
People who want to see a different culture should visit Pakistan.

But we have idiots in our bureaucracy who don't do anything right.

1) There has been a surge in Foreign Tourism inside Pakistan recently.
2) There are more vlogs of Tourists enjoying Pakistan than ever before.
3) Pakistan has a strict visa policy which deters tourists from coming here compared to lets say India which has e-visa for 180 countries.
4) Pakistan gets more tourists than Bangladesh.

In the early 1990s hailing from a small town in the UK my physical education and sports science tutor at school, an Englishman regularly visited Rawalpindi. Sports and education meetings around cricket. A few years later when I was at college, anoteher White British lecturer of Business Economics visited Gilgit Baltistan, Hunza and Chitral twice. Recently I came to know an English lady work colleague, in her late 50s visited FATA in the 1991 to attend her friends wedding.

Is this a serious question? Have you seen the state of the country?
Certainly is in a much better position then it was a few years ago! Have you seen the situation in Egypt? Still pulls in tourists especially after the 2011 Arab revolution.

Of course but our situation is still not that great. As for Egypt they're allies of Israel (hence USA/West) they'll be artificially propped in that regard for as long as that exists.

Listen false flag, Pakistan is doing much better nowadays.

Bad Marketing.
Terrible marketing. The blame is on the government and us the people. Brand Pakistan has no value whatsoever. Brand has to be conspicious and have a signature. Think tiny Ireland what comes to mind? Leprechauns, the harp, Guniness etc. Think Scotland what comes to mind? Tartans, kilts and bagpipes. Think Egypt what comes to mind? Pyramids, Giza, Sphinx. Think India what comes to mind? Taj Mahal, Indian food, Indian Music, Bollywood.

Now think Pakistan what comes to mind? Either a cheap copy of India or terrorism. for nearly 60 years all we were a cheap copy of India and in the last 10 years we have built another idenntity - terrorism. The fact is as long as Pakistanis keep going around in the shadow of India they will not develop their own brand - less than tiny Maldives.

If we Pakistani's are defensive and apologetic about being Pakistani, owning up everything as Pakistan and not 'Indian' you think the world is going to do it? And as long as we are seen as cheap copy of India why would they settle for us when they can have the 'real India' by going on hliday to India?

Now watch your language.

The problem is that foreigners think we have something in common with Indians.

That is the problem!

We need to advertise what Pakistan is all about.

Like exotic clothes like Shalwar Kameez, Urdu, Pakistani foods like beef briyani, Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, Shalmar Gardens, Frere Hall in Karachi, K2 in Gilgit Baltistan.

There is much potential, but terrible advertising.

The advertising of the Kalash people on London buses was a good start for showing Pakistan's unique identity.

. . .
Like exotic clothes like Shalwar Kameez
Indians will say it's their national dress.

Indians will say Urdu is their language nurtured in Lucknow.

Pakistani foods like beef briyani
Indians will say it is indian food developed in Hyderabad Deccan and later exported to Pakistan via migrants in 1947. The Iranians will say it is theirs.

Badshahi Mosque
Yawn. India has Red Mosque, Delhi

Rest of the world. Pakistani = Indian who has converted to Islam.
