Modi who tweeted about Orlando shootings in America has not said a word about Sterlite massacre in Tamil Nadu? Is it because Tamil blood does not matter? The same when Tamil Nadu fishermen were shot by Lankan Navy?

Why did Indian Ministry of Forests and Environment over-rule Tamil Nadu Environmental Board and allowed Sterlite Copper Melting in spite of so many violations?

Pollution versus politics in the uneasy town of #Thoothukudi

It is believed that Tamil Nadu’s AIADMK government is providing protection to the Sterlite plant as the Vedanta chairman is said to be close to BJP bigwigs.

The AIADMK government, which is operating on an extremely thin line of support in the Assembly, is surviving on the basis of the BJP government at the Centre. Therefore, it is believed that the AIADMK government is being forced to toe the line of the Centre.

Unfortunately for the AIADMK government, it may be interested in going along with the political sentiment in Thoothukudi to close down the plant and also in line with the decision of Jayalalithaa herself, but is caught in a bind, as its political master, the BJP is inclined to support Vedanta’s Sterlite group. Therefore, the issue in Thoothukudi is pollution versus politics. There seems to be no easy solution to this quagmire.

In a federal system, state matters are concerns of state head, Central ministry poking nose in every state matter will only make things worse. Ideally central ministry gets reports from state government and president gets details form governor. Based on these the central govt have to take initiatives.

You are distorting facts.

India's Ministry of Environment and Forests allowed Sterlite in TN without the restrictions prescribed by Tamil Nadu Pollution Control (TNPC). We have no problem if Sterlite operates with the TNPC restrictions. Indian gov overruled it.

Every state when in need case ask neighbouring state or center for additional force. So center and neighbouring states keep there reserves on alert mode when such needs are for seen.

District collector is not elected, he is been appointed from the available national pool of IAS officers. So he can be from any part of country

after muslim genocide he is after Tamils' blood, the order to kill the protesters came from Indian PMO , hence there will be no tweet from the Hindi'an PM or justice for the victims and the perpetrators will walk free. The excuse for killing over 25 Tamils protesters (some female student as young as 17 yrs) - they were anti nationals, naxalites, jihadists , Church sponsored terrorists.

The protest have been going on for the last 20 over years demanding its closure due to high toxic pollution to air and water. For breach of environment and pollution the Indian SC imposed a fine but refused to close the sterlite plant. Those who support the sterlite plant should have the plant move to their own back yard, Tamils are nature worshipper - they reject any project that is dumped on them by Hindi'a which harms their land.

For these Indians , Tamils are dispensable but not their scared cows and its worshippers i.e cow belt Hindis.
