Ultimately that is the quality all nations are built on. I watched the media interaction of PM Imran Khan and PM Boris Johnson covering the national emergency related to COVID-19. It really does highlight the differance between both countries. You could use it to write a sociology book on both countries. UK is regarded as the forte of media freedoms. Pakistan on the other hand as a repressive country.

However the UK media down to the last reporter was understanding, supportive and utterly deferantial to Boris. They ignored or skipped asking tough questions [there is much to fault with way Boris has handled this crisis] but instead worked almost as PM Bori's team to get the message out to the country to stay safe and calm. Sense of unity and rallying around the PM of UK was at display.

In the case of Pakistan the media was scoring points, sarcastic, bitching, using the national emergency event as means to peddle their agenda and grind axes. It was sickening watching it and I could see PMIK look of frustration. At one point he even said to one of the journalists 'can we please focus on the emergency' and leave agendas out of it.


But to no avail. It really was sad ...

We know your community is incredibly successfull in Pakistan, in India and everywhere. It's success is lesson for us all. Your success is because of all the communties in South Asia you became the most westoxified [for lack of better word] and thus are least desi. If you draw a line with two poles. On one side 'west' the other 'desi' your comunity are as far away from 'desi' and as close to being to 'west' that you can be. On the other hand you have retained your religion, customs, genetics and identity. Lesson there for rest of South Asia.
