Bangladesh doesn't give citizenship to Urdu speaking Bihari minority in Bangladesh even though they were born and raised in Bangladesh and have been living there for over half a century. They are confined to some slum camp and are treated badly.

Bangladesh wants them to be deported to Pakistan as they are not considered their nationals while the same Bangladesh keeps on sending their surplus population to other countries in millions - 20 million illegal Bangladeshis in India, 3 million in Pakistan and a million in Myanmar.
(Fun part is they then brag about reduction in fertility rate of BD) lol

What I have figured out so far is that Bangladesh is a country founded for a particular Bengali ethnicty and Bengali language, so probably that's why Urdu speaking Biharis from different ethnicity are considered outsiders although they were born and raised there. But the same Bangladesh doesn't consider Rohingya as their own people although they have ethnicity, speak the same language and follow the same religion on the basis that they belong to Myanmar. Does the same logic not make Biharis your citizens? Why the hypocrisy?

The original older Biharis want to move to Pakistan. They refuse to call themselves Bangladeshi. The high court in 2009 granted citizenship to all the Bihari minors born before or after 1971.

The older folks want nothing to do with Bangladesh.

You should not believe bharati sanghi and burmese buddhist extremist propaganda uncritically.

Since you didn't fact check before you posted this, now would be the right time to make corrections. Also, not sure how they are treated badly by Bangladeshis? You might blame the govt for not sorting everything out way sooner than they did but I don't think people treat them much differently. I am pretty sure 90% of my hair cut in BD was done by Biharis. They speak Bangla like the rest of us when they speak to us and speak Urdu when they speak among themselves doesn't matter who is around. Nobody minds when they do those or even cares, just as someone should expect. The idea that they are treated badly by the people is a complete and utter lie.

@Homo Sapiens,

Hello handsome ;)
Interestingly, you forgot to mention Pakistani propaganda while resorting to name calling(before editing).
Anyway, still haven't got what I was looking for, i.e., do you think it's alright for BD to have dual standards? A simple yes or no would suffice.

Again, how is it dual standard? People and Govt doesn't have the same opinion. If you go by peoples behaviour, I or anyone I know don't want Biharis that are born and raised here, out. And I lived most of my life in Mohammadpur, where Bihari camp is. They are citizen of BD by birthright. As for Government, they already made them citizen AND the government isn't really tough of Myanmar as per peoples' opinion. What way do you see dual standard? By the people or government?

@Ashik Mahmud,

I can't seem to share links as I'm not allowed otherwise would have shared a few reports about Biharis as many/most are still not given proper rights yet.

Anyway, do you think BD has double standards? Thanks.

Edit: If you take a look at question, you'll notice that I was talking about country(BD) not people.

To be fair, I don't know much about the RIGHT's of Biharis and whether or not they are the same under the law of the government. What I definitely do know is they are treated the same as any other by the general people. They also get education and everything like the rest of us and you can't even tell them apart unless they are with other Biharis and speaking in Urdu. Because they speak Bengla with the rest of us.

There is no double standard. Most of the Biharis are already given Bangladeshi citizenship.Only those Bihari who are still hopeful to go to Pakistan are in the camp.It is their choice to not to acquire Bangladeshi citizenship.Their heart still bleed for Pakistan.Shame is on you for rejecting them just because they can't bring to Pakistan anything else other than themselves.That's why you have disown your most faithful and patriotic potential citizen.My advice to you, before barking against Bangladesh, look yourself at mirror.

@Homo Sapiens,

Handsome boy, can't you see the irony, hypocrisy and frustration in your comment? Millions of your people are already in other countries ilegally, many still want to leave(as admitted by you) and you want others to look themselves in the mirror while the question was about you, your country, your people inside the country, your people outside the country and others kicking out your people from their countries right back into your country(wrong and tragic though) and you refusing to accept them.

But hey, you can always put them in the drowning island to get rid of them once and for all. And that's exactly is what you guys are doing.

Rohingyas are not Bangladeshi people.We are not bound to accept them.What we have done for them is more than enough.

Not drowing, but newly emerged from the Bay.This decision is still not final.Even if final, govt. will invest 300 million dollar to improves it's livability before transferring some of the Rohingya there.But if you don't like that, if your heart cry so much for Rohingyas, then you are always welcome to take them to your country.

Guys. OP is stupid or an Indian and best ignored.
20 million claimed BD people in India is the highest number claimed by Indians.
