Why do Indian restaurants serve Muslim food?

When Indians started killing people over eating the wrong food.

I can remember a restaurant in West Croydon which is actually owned by a person who has his root in present day India. Some are there in Harrow, tooting as well.
But I must admit less than 5% restaurant owners have their root in present day India . Most of them are run by BD, frequently having Pakistani owner.
For example in the city of Bradford there is a restaurant called Jinnah, other than the owner and his daughter all are BD. Even I heard that the owners daughter is married to BD guy.

The menu of almost all Indian restaurants in the West is full of endless list of meat items like Kebab, Tandoori, Korma, so on.

Whereas in India people get killed for eating meat items because Hindus consider animal meat as Muslim food.

So this begs the question, why make money serving Muslim food to Westerners while you kill minorities at home for eating same food? Isn't it kind of hypocritical?

Are Westerners even aware of the fact that Indian minorities get killed for eating the same food they eat at Indian restaurants?

You have very little idea of Indians, like we Bengalis even give meat to our goddesses. None of our meal is without a non veg.
Now to your question, these are called Indian food since they originated in present day India.

No I didn't (edit: actually did as a kid, but didn't visit any Indian restaurant). Then it must be very different from North America. In Indian restaurants here it's just the regular servile Indians with thick Indian accent and funny Hindu names serving the Muslim food.

We kept it because when we started restaurant business we were part of British India. It was Muslims who popularized the brand called indian food. Nobody likes hindu food, indian food means food of indian Muslims. And it takes time to rebrand...

In my experience, in the UK at least, most "indian" restaurants are actually owned by Bengalis, Indian Muslims, and even Pakistanis.

Sadly they don’t gather enough courage to give names as per the ownership. Why not call them Pakistani or Bangladeshi restaurants?

India has marketed itself pretty good and almost all food of South Asians origin is known as indian food abroad.
All Pakistani food even the himalayan pink salt is labelled as indian.
There is nothing that can be done by Pakistanis regarding this now.

I didn't conduct a survey. Just mentioned what I have observed - from ordering delivery food and going to restaurants.

Actually the majority of Pakistani owned restaurants (from my experience) do call themselves Pakistani, or Lahori, Peshawari, or Karachi food. I just remember coming across the odd Pakistani restaurant being classed under "indian food" on delivery apps.

See my comment above re Pakistani restaurants. Bangladeshi ones I don't know why they do it.

Just cause Hindus have a large proportion of vegetarians compared to other religious group doesn't make us all vegetarians. Also as long as the dishes originated or were influenced by India, we have all right to promote and sell.

In the UK, majority of Indian restaurants I've been to are owned by Gujrati muslims.
