China’s new-type airship successfully stays in near space

China’s first new type near-space airship “Yuanmeng” was successfully launched inXilinhot, Inner Mongolia on Tuesday.

It is the first airship which is equipped with sustainable power and whose flight can becontrolled. The airship is loaded with systems of wideband communication, Data Relay,high-definition observation and spatial imaging.

The airship is flying at the designed height and runs well.“Yuanmeng” is a colossal silveryairship and occupies 180,000 cubic meters. With the lift of helium, it rose to the air, andthen it is mainly powered by solar energy. The airship will stay near space for 48 hoursaccording to the plan.

Near space is the region of Earth's atmosphere that lies between 20 to 100 km (65,000 and328,000 feet) above sea level. Impeded by the height and air density of the region,traditional aircrafts find it difficult to enter the region, said Yu Quan, an academician ofChinese Academy of Engineering.The airship can carry out multiple tasks.“The biggestchallenge for the near-space airship is the big temperature difference in the day andnight,” Yu said.

据《解放军报》10月15日报道，应用于我国空间站照明系统的窗口照明玻璃，近日在秦皇岛星箭特种玻璃有限公司研制成功。据了解，星箭公司自2000年成立以来，研发生产的空间抗辐照玻璃产品已成功应用于“神舟五号”至“神舟十号”系列飞船以及“天宫一号”“嫦娥一号”“嫦娥二号”“嫦娥三号”等航天器上。

首批产品正在加紧生产，预计今年10月底发往中国航天科技集团。

据星箭公司总经理介绍，该产品具有透过率强、耐高低温冲击、抗紫外线强等特点，经过搭载试验及测试，各项数据完全达到技术指标要求。这是继OSR基片、抗辐照玻璃盖片之后，星箭公司研制成功的第三款产品，实现了航天用玻璃温控系统、能源系统、照明系统的全覆盖。

2015年10月13日上午，原科技部马颂德副部长带领科技部重大专项办和工信部04专项负责人及行业知名专家一行到无锡叶片公司进行检查，该公司总经理邵然汇报专项执行情况，汇报大连科德生产的大型叶片加工机床，大家一致评价该产品已经达到国外相当水平，这个规格的机床是国家重大专项支持的项目(目前世界同类产品中规格最大)，也是无锡叶片和大连科德共同设计的成果。

该机床历时7年，先后研制了3轮，才得到认可，可见创新是需要艰辛的付出，在困难时期是对一个企业精神的考验。大连光洋科技集团董事长于德海在会上说，我们共同研制的这款机床的难度和付出是国外相同款式机床的若干倍，因为核心技术、部件、整机都是光洋自有技术。
