Why did BNP sabotage the modernisation of BD airforce?

My question to BD brothers ,Why recently focus is on Light weight or trainer`s .J10 fits perfectly for BD as well as JH7 for maritime security .Else options are SU 30 /27 derivations but why Govt is not focusing on this ? other than hanging

Bangldesh is not ready yet to spend 45-60 million for a plane. After Padma bridge scam government is funding entire project (4 billion) from internal sources, which also delayed purchasing of new platform.

not hanging, with focus in mind, those trainers has been bought. Previously BD did not have any trainer which could train for current fighter aircraft, get it ?

Yes vision wise looks Ok ,but induction is lengthy process so in the mean time BD neighbours are modernizing with some of these BD has disputes as well ,So dont you think currently BD skies are vulnerable

It is a question of not having enough money to fund all three branches of the services at the same time right now.

Currently BD is spending around 500 million dollars a year on average on arms imports, mainly from China and then Russia.

The Yak-130 is actually both a trainer and a subsonic 4+ generation fighter at the same time. While BD waits for enough funds to buy a substantial quantity of 4+ generation fighters, it can train up it's pilots on the Yak-130. The plan is to have 4 squadrons of 4+ generation fighters by 2021, and this should be realistic as the economy is growing strongly and so much more funds will be available over the coming 5 years for arms purchases.

yes for this, Bangladesh is buying 9 Batteries of FM90 for Short SAM whose installation will be ended within this year+
2 Batteries of LY-80E SAM has been bought

Do you have any credible source for the LY-80E SAM purchase?

.
it was bought as second hand from Russian reserve, costed $7million each.
And that would be 224 million.
In 2001,Bangladesh had to defer its payments to the Asian Clearing Union (ACU) for imports to avoid compromising the $1 billion foreign exchange reserve as that would undermine its global image.

The Mig29 was faulty deal but it was urgent call, remember Bangladesh lost huge amount fighter plane+ helicopters during 1990 storm ? (40+) ? to get back BAF some feet, it was bought
I understand the urgency, Bro. But the economy always comes first. No one can refrain us from having a bigger air force now.

No, that would be $112 milion for 16. more 16 was just an option.

My point still stands. If we had to delay the payment of daily imports, how can we pay 112/224 million on fighters (minus the weaponry)???

.
BNP is historically anti air force. For example their founder Zia killed thousands of air force officers in cold blood and this hate grew with time.
when did that happen?
anyway sometimes new regime wants to deal in new way or have different geopolitical alignment in mind.. may be BNP wanted chinese/pakistani aircrafts?
sabotage is wrong word for it.

BD could easily delay Russian payment. Besides Migs were already there and no point in not maintaining them. It was more of a political stunt than economy. BAF not liking it a bullshit. Its the dream of any aircraft pilot to fly a 4th gen aircraft with 2 engines in it.

Pakistan does not design and manufacture planes. China did not make anything better than Mig-21 copy J-7 at the time.

BNP did sabotage the modernisation of the BD air-force when they came to power through sheer malice. This is nothing less than traitorous behaviour in my opinion.

The more you delay the more interest you have to pay.Russians are no Haji Mohoseen.
And rest of your post has nothing to do with facts.

its not unusual for govts in subcontinent to reverse decision of previous regime, just based on political reason, so that they take the credit... projects get cancelled many times after new regime comes
it will be sabotage if bnp specifically wants to weaken the airforce... it can be adequately explained as normal behavior in subcontinent politics.

no offense but I find it hard to believe any bangladeshi account, they use too much hyperbole, one would assume they would be the best in advt world.
