One of the ideas explored in the vid is about electric cars and how it doesn't matter in the fight against ecological damage.
Quite a few companies, most recently Elon Musk's Tesla, have forwarded the idea of electric cars being the cure for vehicle-induced pollution. But it is not the cure. Even if every petroleum-fueled car is replaced with an electric car, please think of the pollution created by the mass manufacture of the electric cars.
The base of the problem is privately-owned personal transport cars, and privately-owned personal transport two-wheelers in places like India, Pakistan, South-east Asia and some parts of Africa.
We should re-look at how humans are transported within cities. The new system should be a blend of mass transport means ( buses ), taxi cars ( Uber, Ola etc ) for the occasional trip to a tea room and a few ambulances stationed in every neighborhood.
Electric cars transfer pollution from cities where cars run to the electricity generation plants and battery disposal sites. They are not really lower pollution vehicles. They just hide the pollution to where nobody can see it.
All the progress that mankind has done is only because of capitalism. People need motivation to invent new things.
New technologies are just not invented out of the blue without any motivation. Many of the recent inventions and new technologies are not given as much credit as they should be given like say, the credit for invention of light bulb is given.
World Population will start plateauing by late 21st century anyways and then move downwards
so many of the arguments are misplaced, also the video ignores the flexible nature of capitalism throughout the history, it will evolve and evolve but will never fall.
