Why Capitalism will fail

. .
One of the ideas explored in the vid is about electric cars and how it doesn't matter in the fight against ecological damage.

Quite a few companies, most recently Elon Musk's Tesla, have forwarded the idea of electric cars being the cure for vehicle-induced pollution. But it is not the cure. Even if every petroleum-fueled car is replaced with an electric car, please think of the pollution created by the mass manufacture of the electric cars.

The base of the problem is privately-owned personal transport cars, and privately-owned personal transport two-wheelers in places like India, Pakistan, South-east Asia and some parts of Africa.

We should re-look at how humans are transported within cities. The new system should be a blend of mass transport means ( buses ), taxi cars ( Uber, Ola etc ) for the occasional trip to a tea room and a few ambulances stationed in every neighborhood.

Electric cars transfer pollution from cities where cars run to the electricity generation plants and battery disposal sites. They are not really lower pollution vehicles. They just hide the pollution to where nobody can see it.

That is a good point, and I will repeat my point that mass manufacturing electric cars in tens of thousands or in millions will have its own big effect.

Best would be to ban privately-owned personal vehicles ( even electric ) and set up a system of mass transport ( buses ) and taxi cars that can be fueled by petroleum as is current.

I'm always pro-capitalism. All the progress that mankind has done is only because of capitalism. People need motivation to invent new things. New technologies are just not invented out of the blue without any motivation. Many of the recent inventions and new technologies are not given as much credit as they should be given like say, the credit for invention of light bulb is given. Or it's mostly because of the rapid surge in new inventions that there's just not space and time for felicitation as some other new technology crops up and the previous one gets obsolete.

And you think motivation is money alone ? Wage slavery ? :)

The USSR, which was communist, created the "world's" first modular space station on which the present ISS is based.

[ Edit : The world's first space station was also built by the USSR - Salyut 1 ]

India is an extremely capitalist system. Yet where is the technological output from here ?

I have been designing a computer microprocessor for some years now. It has taken me some years to come to a point of finalization of the design. I was doing this by myself, without being part of a highly-paid team in some big shot company. What was my motivation then ? Not money since I don't have much.

World Population will start plateauing by late 21st century anyways and then move downwards

The article speaks of 60 years into the future. I hope by then the Indian propensity for high birth-rate will have drastically reduced. We need a world with a vastly lesser number of males and a vastly bigger number of females.

There is a related thing about human settlements. The current cities are saturated because of migration from rural areas. So we need to create city environments in what are rural areas now. Say gather the population of ten or twenty villages into a newly built township which will have the same socio-political setup as an older city. Cinemas, malls, tea rooms / cafes, restaurants etc. The current cities and the new townships will have to be made self-sufficient in food production via Urban Farms and Vertical Farms. All this will create an atmosphere of a evolved society.

so many of the arguments are misplaced, also the video ignores the flexible nature of capitalism throughout the history, it will evolve and evolve but will never fall.
@jamahir

I disagree. The future is socialist as, when correctly implemented, it seeks to have harmony within human society and with the surrounding ecology.

one kid policy for working class and no kid policy for under poverty class is need of time

Capitalism will fail because this word was invented by socialists to condemn it. Of course, in their eyes, it has to fail even if it doesn't.

yes middle class all those whom work under 1lakh INR per month

Well, that is good for immediate implementation but in the very-near-future modern technologies like 3D Printing and Vertical Farming through which houses, plastic and metal structures can be built by machines and farming can be conducted inside buildings, can be used to erase the difference between office-worker middle class and outdoor-worker / factory-worker under class.
