Our foreign policy weak, why are we lonely: Opposition leader flays Nawaz Sharif

Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif found himself cornered during a joint parliament session on Wednesday. Questioning why five countries boycotted the Saarc summit which was to be held in Islamabad, opposition leader Khursheed Shah said Pakistan should have pre-empted the development.

Even as Sharif tried to put up a brave face+ in the joint session of parliament - one that was boycotted by Tehreek-e-Insaf's Imran Khan - by praising terrorist Burhan Wani and blaming India for ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir, his government was questioned on numerous front by the opposition leader. "Why is our foreign policy so weak, why are we lonely?" asked Shah. "We have to realise our mistakes and choose better path for the future. Our policies have led to this stage, where Bangladesh is also against us."

The senior PPP leader then trained his guns on the issue of the cancelled Saarc summit. "They (India) have tried to isolate us diplomatically. The Saarc conference is before you. Five countries that refused to attend it. We should have preempted such developments."

Pakistan refused to accept the obvious boycott when Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh followed India in pulling back from the summit in Islamabad. Shah's comments then clearly show Pakistan that it is indeed looking at global and regional isolation. But as with most factors in Pakistani politics, reference to Kashmir was once again used for mileage. "We all are united for Kashmir as per PPP's fundamental policy. We have a firm believe that Kashmiris will get their rights. The victory will be of Kashmiris and Pakistan,"said Shah, but not before inadvertently referring to Kulbushan Jadhav - an Indian prisoner in Pakistan accused of being a spy - as Kulbushan Wani. The reference to Wani - a terrorist killed by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir - drew laughter from fellow parliamentarians.

No one acknowledged it either.

Lonely? A country that is lonely doesn't receive a massive investment of 50+ billion dollars. Shah is a moron and he needs to put his political bickering aside.

Valid questions. No doubt bout them and PM must respond.
The difference is you won't see Khurshid Shah's face covered with ink as Kajeriwal's. Thats BJP way. Extreme.
Our PM is more king type - he doesn't bother answering. Lol.

I'm not a fan of our PM at many times, but in time of adversity politics needs to be given a little rest. It should not be always about scoring brownie points.

As for BJP, everyone knows how intolerant this party is. We should be glad it just ended with ink on his face. It could have been much worse.

Days after it asked Islamabad to take “effective” steps to stop the activities of terrorist groups on its territory, Russia on Monday “welcomed” the surgical strikes by India, saying every country had the right to defend itself.

Russia’s Ambassador to India Alexander M. Kadakin said his country was always with India in fighting cross-border terrorism.

Lolz... Each time this Joint comedy session turns around to be a joint condemnation session. Do not like Nawaz but what Mr.Shah is saying is all because of his Leadership either Afghanistan or Bangladesh. Point scoring politicians as always..

What is a surgical strike?
I know the Gulf War in 1991 was surgical strike.
The Kosovo war in 1992 was surgical strike.
The Iraq war in 2003 was surgical strike.
But...
What is the surgical strike in India?

Good questions bro. Surgical strike in India means cross border firing. It must be because that's all that happened.

I am young, a lot of things I do not know, but I have my understanding.
Surgical strike is a kind of asymmetric war.
This is a powerful comprehensive national invasion of weaker countries.
But the fact is that India is strong? As far as I know, the Indian weapons inventory only for 20 days of fighting. Even if the situation changes, India's attack still can not continue.
And Pakistan is not weaker countries.
India's surgical strike how to do?
