I notice a trend here and elsewhere and I am not objecting to it per say- But I find most Indians being being very amicable and putting out their hand towards acceptance towards Pakistanis. Given the realities of the sordid history and present relationship among you two- I am curious as to why such a sentiment.
Let me give you one example among several here that I saw lately.
A poster started a thread about " what would be your version of a similar NATO alliance". I noticed several Indians adding pakistan in the mix of countries.
Now if you look at it objectively, academically with no bias rather solely on the merits. Having pakistan as part of such an agreement holds no strategic value towards such groupings. NATO like alliances are foremost among developed countries or in your case ( region) projected to be developed countries with assets ( be it military, geographic locations) worthy of challenging the REAL NATO alliance. Having a military industrial complex that can build indigenous, high value military products or are projected in the coming decade. None of this exists with Pakistan- so how you justify an honest assessment for your region with having them in it?
alternatively- every Pakistani who posted in that thread side stepped India in their " desired grouping of countries " to fall under such NATO LIKE alliance. Frankly I would not be off base in saying, they don't really care about alliances with Indians
again- my question is purely academic and I asked it here because it is a defense related alliance primarily .
