Lt. Gen Ikram ul Haq is junior to these four Generals, NS is just make things more complicated, don't know what is wrong this guy !!

My vote is for Lt. Gen Ishfaq, or Lt. Gen Bajwa. Both are very competent and professionals. Actually all four are competent, but don't know, both of them suit this post more than others.

Let him choose No 5 as COAS. Its the Junior most Generals who have topple NS government every-time.

1. Gen.(Ret) Waheed Kakar was also no 5 in the list of LT Generals from which a new COAS was to be selected and he was appointed as COAS after Asif Nawaz Sudden Death which was a murder according to some sources. He topple NS government in 1993.

2. Gen.(Ret) Pervez Musharraf was also no .4 or no. 5 in the list of Generals and he topple NS government in 1999.

They all are. These Officers are all personally handpicked by Raheel Sharif. This is the benefit of a discipline institution, it runs as a well oiled machine no matter who the head is. There is no wrong answer as to who should not be the next COAS because all these Officers are extremely competent and disciplined soldiers.

yes All four Generals are highly competent contenders, reports are Lt.Gen Bajwa will be new COAS but history is NS always select someone who according to NS & his advisers is least proficient as now inclusion of fifth person in list.

Actually Khwaja does go to GHQ but he is so clueless & hopelessly out of touch with defence issues that his being there or not is the same thing. Also unlike previous defence ministers who made atleast a modicum of effort to understand their domain, in all his time KA has done nothing. Inside observation, he is almost always blank in meetings like his mind is somewhere else. The flag ranks in GHQ etc just tolerate him at best, at worst.....

Dr Shahid Masood in today's prog..said tht Nwaz Sharif is in mood of khudkush hamla on himself.... Because as we all know, Geo is Nawaz Sharif's mouthpiece...today theres a report by Umar Cheema in jang.. Shahid Masood talked abt first few lines of tht jang article which said .tht merit will not be a major consideration for next COAS, but loyalty to prime minister will take priority.... He showed the clip of tht newspaper story..in his program

Haroon Rashid said today, tht by looking at body language, and after talking to few ppl, he thinks tht Gen Zubair will be CJCSC, and Gen Ashfaq Nadeem, COAS...but then he again said, tht this is my analysis after talking to ppl, but nothing can be said abt Nawaz Sharif...what will be his thinking while deciding, this matter? As he is very unpredictable and nothing can be said abt him

Gen Raheel Sharif was very good on this account.. I loved him for his highly anti india stance.. He even addressed modi, and asked indian army to man up and accept the casualties... And then his latest statement abt surgical strikes, tht india will remember it for generations, if Pak did surgical strike, lol..and will be taught in indian syllabus.... Yes, want someone, as anti india as him, if not more, right now
