The two most developed economic nations of Asia – India and China – have again come in a face-off situation, this time at the borders. The tense situation along territorial boundaries of both countries have brought into focus the military strength of both (if in case war-like situations arise).

The armies of both countries saw a bloody clash recently in Galwan valley. “Who is mightier than the other?” is the question that probably is the talk of the town. Let us compare the military strength of the two nations point by point.

  1. China has an annual defense budget of $179 billion in comparison to India’s annual defense budget which is just under $67 billion. As per the figures available with BRICS, China accounts for $14.14 trillion nominal gross domestic product (GDP) while India has $2.94 trillion nominal GDP.
  2. Recent data published by the Swedish think tank Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), China possesses 320 nuclear warheads. India owns 150 nuclear arsenals.

  1. According to Global Fire Power, an online portal that provides analytical data of military power, China seems to have an edge over India in terms of the number of ground forces and military arsenal.
  2. Going by Chinese Defense White Paper, China has two types of nuclear-powered attack submarines in service, having second nuclear strike capability. India has recently built in second-strike capability with commissioning of indegenous Arihant-class nuclear submarine.
To counter nuclear power of China, India has taken INS Chakra on a 10 year lease from Russia.

China had the largest active military force in the world, with about 2.18 million active troops in 2020. The count for India falls far below from that of China. However, a study conducted by the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School said that India has key under-appreciated conventional advantages that reduce its vulnerability to Chinese threats and attacks. But the question of difference in military strength remains unanswered.

First of all India cannot be considered as developed nation because its government was unable to provide basic needs - food, shelter and jobs to its 1.4 b population. It has world's largest slum. Most of the houses do not have toilets.

Head of the poor families suicide as they unable to support their dear ones.

India's neighbors, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have better living conditions for common people.

Though India and other Financial Institutes claim that India has GDP much higher and FOREX reserves are in trillions.
Ground realities are completely reverse. If they are economically sound then they should be able to provide their common man at least basic necessities.

Even if India has high GDP, the money the nation makes is not being spent on betterment of its nation but goes in the personal vaults of their corrupt leaders.

Who is mightier than the other?
A question that probably is the talk of the town only in India.

Because, the people even being "educated" act as naive.
How can you compare China, a superpower, one of the member of UNSC with India consisting of +1 b hindutva - an insane, demoralized, coward, corrupt and rapist nation? Hindutva is a nation which eats and drinks lies. They are the biggest liar in the world.

If the war broke up, they would be the first one shouting, crying and running towards safety that is their homes hiding behind their women and children.

Look at their stupidity! Comparing China's might with their useless toys which they don't even know how to use.

Justifying their public consisting of either low IQ commoners or insane rapists that they can stand against China's might. Let the sleeping dragon awake and see the result..... HELL WILL BE UNLEASHED.

There is a rational comparison between China and USA, maybe even NATO vs China, definitely one between India and Pakistan . There is no real comparison between China and India, it’s more like comparing Afghanistan and Pakistan or USA and Syria....see India is not a military power it does not produce any military hardware most of their equipment is older soviet era weapons how would they ever challenge China

Of course it's India, they are a superpower as declared in 2013, with white servants and glitzy skyscrapers filmed in Dubai. Their single soldiers killed 20 chinese soldiers last month according to story I read in their media.

Indian economy is more than ten times the size of Pakistan's, while Chinese economy is 4.8 times that of India's.
Indian defense budget is 6 times the size of Pakistan's, where as Chinese defense budget 3.5 times the size of India's.
Indian and Chinese armed are of equal size, while Pakistan's is less than half of India's.

So how can there be a comparison between India and Pakistan, if there is no comparison between India and China ??
