Hi, I read some news about Dhaka summoning Pakistani HC over some video post on social media. What I'm curious about is that why is it important for us to know or disseminate or why would we care who declared independence of east Pakistan?

It was Major Ziaur Rahman of Pakistan Army, who declared very clearly, "I, Major Ziaur Rahman hereby proclaim the independence of Bangladesh on behalf of our great leader Shaikh Mujibur Rahman". The declaration was made on 27th March, 1971 when Pakistan Awami League leaders were either arrested or were hiding. The declaration had a profound implication and impact on the freedom seeking population.

Theoretically we had 5 years to sort them out.

Socialists the Islamists of the era let them be.

Bangladesh only claims independence. She is not independent.

Thanks for context and apologies for misunderstanding due to incomplete title phrase - the question was about why Pakistan Affairs posted video on this topic and how and why is it important for Pakistanis to know who declared the independence of East Pakistan.

Yeah, but their issues and controversies are no longer our concern. The way the summoned HC sounds like some big mess created by Pakistan affairs - they claim it to be an attempt to distort history. But, what be our ultimate motive if, for moment, we suppose that it was done intentionally?

The racist nation has been quite vocal against Pakistan.

Sometimes we give attention.

What's so worrying?

I for one advocate zero Pakistan Bangladesh relations. We don't want none of that again. Ignore the traitors we tell our young ones.

Bangladesh cannot afford a Pakistani problem. So they will shut up for the good of their own folks.

watch this , there is english subtitle

That guy is a traitor.

Power hungry racist.

Met a fate he deserved.

you ppl the last one to talk about history, specially related to East Pakistan. We all know how much it is discussed in details in your textbook and i am not surprised that you talk that way.
now watch old ABC news

You do realise we are your parent country.

You cannot dictate us our history.

This arrogant racist behaviour is the reason why God chose to cleanse us with the evil.

Altaf Zardari Nawaz Bacha Bhutto have all the seeds. But it was Mujib who crowned himself the traitor.

Yeah, but all these biases are explainable or atleast I can understand they need something to attach to or unite upon to amplify their nationalism, so, I would simply ignore whatever truth or crap they sell to their people.

What concerns me is Bangladesh dragging Pakistan's current affair - though I don't advocated ZERO RELATIONSHIP or maybe I'm not there yet but I really don't feel comfortable on Pakistan being involved in Bangladesh's people, politics, and scandals.

PS: Instead of ZERO RELATIONS, I would want our diplomatic and foreign policy for Bangladesh at par with our policies for other south east Asian countries - nothing less and nothing more.

The real traitor of Pakistan is Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the mastermind of the break up of Pakistan. The equation is pretty simple.

Pakistan's founding fathers were mostly Muhajirs and Bengalis, so after independence, the politics of Pakistan began to be dominated by these communities, being the most experienced and seasoned politicians among all. However, since Muhajirs were a migrant community, the Bengali politicians had the most popularity among all.

This situation left ambitious politicians from West Pakistan like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto frustrated. As a result, he conspired to prevent the true representative of Pakistanis, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, from assuming his deserving leadership and thereby, leading to the separation of East Pakistan. That resulted in the total monopoly of Bhutto in the Pakistan politics.

Those Punjabi and Pathan generals of Pakistan military like Yahya Khan were mainly from tribal backgrounds and hence couldn't realize the conspiracy of Bhutto as well as India against the Pakistani nation. They just complied with Bhutto's plans that ultimately led to the break up of Pakistan.
