I think we should be spending $1T+ on defense. Another good year of GDP growth in ‘23 and we should be able to hit $1T+ under 4% of GDP.

Also, at the height of the Reagan buildup in the 1980s the US was spending 6.8% of GDP on defense. If we spent that today that’d be over $1.7T. The US has huge room for defense spending ramp up.

Also, defense spending is currently well below its historical average of 4% as a share of GDP. 1Trillion defense budget actually makes a lot of sense.
