Which will be retired first?

Guys in coming years IAF will be retiring several of its aircrafts. post your views on which aircrafts will b retired first,and their possible replacements.

Other than Mig-21, it'll be Mig-27s.

As all other aircrafts like Jaguar, Mig-29, Mirage 2000s are lined up for big upgrades. Only Mig-27s are being treated as leftovers.

IMO,mig-21's non bison varients will be retired first.

with the induction of rafales the mig-27s will go.

then-guys don't eat me!- i think the mirage 2000s will go,because
1.we won't be having any adequate supply of spares
2.we operate a small no.of mirage-2000s
so i believe the Mirage 2000s will go out rplaced by lca tejas.

Very unlikely, IAF pilots are highly impressed by the performance of Mirages, MMRCA wouldn't have happened if Mirage production lines were open in 2002. India might buy used UAE Mirages, if they want to sell it.

Prospective replacements

Mig 21 - LCA
Miraj 2000, Jaguars, Mig 27 - su 30, AMCA, Rafale
Mig 29 - AMCA

SU-30 came with new category with air superiority and ground attack means Multi role fighter like all rounder. FGFA will also be of new category. they are no replacements but replacements like 1000 v/s 100. means su 30 is many time better than the Jaguars or of Mig 27.

the Junk Yard fleet are of Mig-21, Mig-27, and Jaguars. these are required to be changed immediately no need upgrade of it. second for air superiority as mig 29 is upgraded needs some su 30 of fgfa specially for this with high AESA Raddars with longest range and also long range missiles. The future of such plane for replacing mig-29 shall have capacity of stelath, fly at hypersonic speed, fly at highest level like mig -25, so save against missiles, with high graded missiles and AESA etc. with long range for advance air superiority. The air superiority must possess quality to destroy enemy planes of any grade. with hyper visibility of infrared of stealths. might be FGFA like fighter shall have such capacity.

there shall be change in LCA one by one if it reach upto mark-3 stealthy great else look at russian mig series stealth plane.

Prospective future

su 30 - 250+
AMCA - 200+(guess)
FGFA - 200+
LCA - 200+
Rafale - 200+

so 1000+ fleet will be in future.

Till the time LCAs are inducted, none will be retired. A massive upgradation project of all MiGs is in the pipeline.
