The oldest mosque in the subcontinent is claimed to be in Bangladesh. One assumes there was also a cemetary but that has not survived.

Islam came to the subcontinent via arab traders and one of their ports of call was BD. Muslims community comprising of these traders and locals existed long before muslim expeditionery forces landed to establish proper beachheads for the subsequent islamisation of Bengal.

it'll probably be in Sindh or coastal south India, not Bangladesh

Bengal has been a central maritime trading post for centuries and even millenia . What is the basis of your belief?

Islam was well established in bengal via seafaring trade long before it arrived via land in what is now pakistan or sindh.

Coastal india was not avoided by arab traders but there needs to be certain level of interaction before something takes root. The trade was not sufficient so there is no evidence of any activity. Such things do not remain a mystery.

the op is asking about an actual existing graveyard belonging to muslims from the early islam time not a probable thing that may exist .Does Bangladesh have any early islam times sites excavated and found any graveyards?
BTW Islam reached present day Pakistan via a conquest during second caliph Umars time.. anything before that through traders is not considered potent enough to be declared advent of islam as it lacks concrete evidence. What is Bangladeshs case?

Thousands of mughal and sultante soldiers have died fighting .

Now , I know tombs, oldest tomb in present day india is sultan garhi in Delhi. Iam not interested in that , as many works already exist on the net

But what what graves of common muslims. Who lived during that era ?
Like for example many died in Deccan famine of 1630 .

Arabs settled and married local woman , they are called as moplas in present day kerala
So if they could settle and marry , trade must have been good

.
Should be in Sindh logically speaking
LOLOL.

No, no, no, by the hair on my chinny-chin-chin.

The oldest mosque on the sub-continent is supposed to have been one of the oldest ever, perhaps one of the first ten mosques in the world, and it was in Kerala.

From there, these mixed ethnic groups, of Arabs who had married locals, spread up the coast. You will still find a community called the Beary's on the Konkan coast. They are also among the most ancient communities.

All this was long before Sind.

Its truly awkward thing no where one can find a old graveyard etc for common fellows when you have such places in Iran or central Asia

your article has lot of problems.
firstly who did the carbon dating of that plaque saying 69 hijri? no details on that....do you have any pictures of it..And what sort of plaque is it? what language was used?? how do we know 69 refers to a year.. and that it was indeed a mosque?
it says locals dug up surroundings and found minarets??..minarets were not used in those times.. minarets came much later in Arabia how can they be used in bengal then? and how come locals dug it up?shouldnt there be archaeology teams there??
finally how come sehaba karaam were there? whats the proof.. any names?
It says itself there are lots of disagreements about its age.. so what does it mean..what is the final logical conclusion about its age? or is it a only a tale at the moment?

We are a land starved country. Not much space for graves. Construction and redevelopment is happening all the time. Places get dug up. Secondly, we don't do much record keeping of our ancestors therefore after a point no one cares where previous generations were buried. No one visits and the sites are forgotten

It was.

It was extensive.

Once upon a time, all big dhows sailing the Arabian Sea were built in Kerala, in Beypore.

LOL.

It is a mosque currently in use.

Nobody writes about and locates graveyards, not even Christian graveyards in England, on digital maps. Those who have been to Kerala will know that Muslims have had graveyards there that are around 1,400 years old. The coming and going between the gulf countries and Kerala are much earlier than Islam.
